It’ll be a parody of Dark Sun.
There’s a fair amount out there that you can get through an image search, but nothing official.

One of the more popular settings released for D&D was the Dark Sun campaign. It was a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, where reckless magic users had devastated the planet, leaving it covered in endless deserts filled with undead and twisted mutations, with a few cities ruled by the surviving evil arch wizards.

It also had cannibal halflings.
So yeah, basically it was the D&D world’s answer to Spawn. Darker. Edgier. Stupider.
Not quite as stupid as White Wolf’s 90s phase, though. God, was that embarrassing.
Yeah, Belkar should fit right in.
Snips and Snails has some sketches of a more realistic looking Julio Scoundrel by Burlew.
It, um… It really makes you appreciate the stick figures.
I just noticed that Yuk Yuk is serving as Carpet Caddy/Cat Carrier.
There’s also the portraits of Nale and Thog by the Cliffport police sketch artist.
Just upped to $60. That’s for the I ALREADY HAVE THE ORIGINAL GAME pack ($36), with addons of the 8x10 print ($15) and two patches ($8) plus an extra buck just because.
I really hope he doesn’t put anything else that’s too nifty on there - this is getting pricey!
Patches? Patches? We don’t need no stinking patches!
Actually, the patches are cool. I’m actually looking forward to all the extra goodies more than I am to getting a couple of the reprints.
I mostly pledged so I could get the bonus PDF stories. But then, having pledged for those, I realized that it was cheaper to also toss in for the two most recent compilation books through the Kickstart than it would be to order them separately, so I pledged enough to get those, too. I don’t actually care too much about the stickers or fridge magnet or whatever, but it’s not like I mind getting extra swag.
Here’s the closest thing Burlew has done. It’s a police sketch of Nale and Thog, which I suppose counts as a more realistic drawing of Elan as well.
eta: I see Chronos already mentioned this strip. But I included a link, so there’s still value added.
I took the plunge and grabbed the one with all of the compilation books (I already have Start of Darkness and Origin of the PCs).
It’d be nice to have the drive break a million, but I think it’ll fall a bit short (unless he tosses in another prize, of course).
Love the last panel. The poor-senses jokes are good too.
I love V’s Right Hand Rule reference.
Rich is throwing in the towel:
There’s more at the link, including a mystery prize if we break $1,000,000.
Goddamn it! I wish I could be apart of this (and get the books). I hope he makes it too a million.
As of now it less than $90k away.
I’m willing to be surprised, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be JUST short. Which is a shame, because I’d love to see what that final mystery prize is.
Hoping I’m wrong, though!
I’m utterly amazed. He set out to raise $50K or so and he’s getting 20x that. I wonder if TSR / Hasbro will take note.
You are wrong. :p;) In the last 12 hours he has raised $40k, he needs just slightly more than $50k to go over a $1,000,000.
I have no idea why I’m soo excited about this, yeah I like the comic, but ![]()
Are we talking about the kobald or Belkar?
Awesome!
Wait… holy crap. Rich, is uuh, rich?
Way cool!
Hope he doesn’t abandon us,
Well, I just upped from $25 to $36 to get the extra game expansion (I just received the game as a birthday present). It means I miss the print but I already got the double poster for my 11 year old.
Do I add the patch and such during post-drive or do I acknowledge it before hand? I still find this bewildering.
