You need to pledge the amount for the patch before hand. For example, I’m missing a few of the consolidated books so I’m taking the opportunity to order them using the $78 pledge. But I also want an extra coloring book and the patch so I pledge an extra $5 and $4 dollars respectively. Instead of $78, I need to pledge $87 BEFORE the end of the drive.
However, they don’t know if the extra $9 is a gift or for the sticky sheets or some other combination. They will send a survey AFTER the drive to understand what extras people wanted.

Some folk are already talking about the 2000% mark (IIRC $1,155,000) which seems ludicrously optimistic to me. But then $1million seemed ludicriously optimistic to me only a few days ago so I’m just going to wait and see.
Fortunately I’m not one for autograph collecting so I don’t feel the need to F5 camp, but I admire Rich’s technique for pumping up the total in the last three days of the campaign. I wonder if there’s a lesson for public broadcasting here…
The pledge amount increased by almost $1000 while I was looking through the rewards and increasing my pledge $4 for the patch. I went for the $139 Full Color option. I have the 2 prequels and the Dragon Tails, but none of the compilations from the web, so it is quite a bargain for me. Wish I had seen the Patience for the Whole Story Signed deal before it filled though. Would have came up with the extra for that even already owning the three.
From the comments, I am pretty sure a large number of the increased number of backers are second and third accounts of people already backing. That is the only way to get multiple rewards for this Kickstarter. I have thought about it, to get just the game reward, since I have not seen any option including just the compilation books and the game stuff.
Dammit, we’re getting one about every two days now. I wish he’d slow down and save a few up to post during his down times so we don’t continue the sporatic “a whole bunch at once and then two weeks or more without an update” pattern.
Honestly, an ambush is the best thing that could happen to them. Their loss condition is for the Guild and the Gate-defenders to meet before they meet either of them. If they meet the Guild before the Guild finds the Gate-defenders, they can smack them down and take off the time pressure. And if they meet the Gate-defenders before the Guild gets there, they can warn them against them. Yeah, it’d be awkward for a little while, but their first contact with Draketooth’s group is going to be awkward no matter how it happens.
