Osip's SDMB League: Draft Day! (Fantasy Foo'ball!)

Post your rosters and smack talk!

QBs: Aaron Brooks, Rich Gannon, Tommy Maddox
WRs: David Boston, Amani Toomer, Rod Smith, Michael Lewis, Tim Brown
RBs: Ricky Williams, Eddie George, Warrick Dunn, Jerome Bettis
TEs: Anthony Becht, Kyle Brady
Ks: Jason Elam, Ryan Longwell
DEFs: Miami, Baltimore

I really like my roster this year!

Smack! I love you all.
Er, that’s not what you meant by smack talk, is it?

BTW, am I right to understand that we’re just playing for cummulative points, and not head-to-head? If so, that should be an interesting change of pace.

That’s the impression I got and since the “Week One Matchups” don’t show any actual matchups, I think it’s a points only. Never played a league that way.

Good morning, lads! (do we have any ladies?)

I’ll try and remember last night selections from memory (just mine), but it’s a bit hazy:

QBs: Daunte Culpepper, Tom Brady
WRs: Eric Moulds, Koren Robinson, Chad Johnson, Josh Reed, Marc Boerigter, Joe Jurevicius, Dennis Northcutt
RBs: Clinton Portis, Stephen Davis, Correll Buckhalter, Mike Alstott, Thomas Jones
TEs: Jerramy Stephens, Mikhael Ricks
K: Martin Gramatica
Def: Carolina

I really like my roster this week! Then we’ll see how it really goes.

I was surprised how deep most of the team where- a smaller league and lots of bench spots should mean a relatively close league.

Roster to follow.

QB’s: Farve, Holcomb
RB’s: McAllister, Green (william), Staley, Gary, Faulk (kevin)
WR’s: Ward (hines), Mason (derrick), Price, Rogers, Hillard, Bradford
TE’s: Gonzalez, Wycheck
K: Akers, Hanson
D: Philadelphia
Man am I stacked at WR- oh yeah!!

QB - Donovan McNabb, Jake Plummer
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson, TJ Duckett, Amos Zereoue, James Stewart, Marcel Shipp
WR - Marvin Harrison, Tai Streets, Keenan McCardell, Joey Galloway
TE - Marcus Pollard, Alge Crumpler, Jed Weaver
K - Mike Vanderjagt, Sebastian Janikowski
D - Pittsburgh, New Orleans

Overall, I am pretty happy considering I autodrafted. I ended up with my number 1 choices for running back, quarterback, wide receiver, and defense.

I have a couple of runningbacks and a tight end I would never pick. But, there are so many similar receivers that I can take care of all of my issues via free agency.

How many teams are in your league? Mully’s trio of LT, Harrison and McNabb confuse me.

Munch, there are nine teams, with starting slots of:

1 QB
2 RBs
2 WRs
1 WR/TE
1 RB/WR
1 K
1 Def

I guess whoever has the most points at the end of the season wins. And with such a small number of teams it’s almost like a Lake Woebeggon effect: every team is above average.

QB: Hasselback, Warner, Collins
RB: James, Barber,

oops. ALT-S at teh wrong time. Let’s try again.

QB: Hasselback, Warner, Collins
RB: James, Barber, Hearst, Mack, Pittman
WR: Horn, Holt, Driver, Johnson (Keyshawn), Smith (Steve)
TE: Miller, Clark (Dallas)
K: Mare
DEF: Oakland, NYG

I can live with it, considering that I picked last. I like the upside of my QBs very much, and I have as strong a WR corps as anyone (though WR are easy in today’s NFL). If James is back (and I think he is) then I like my chances.

Yeah geez Shibbo, how many first-round picks did you have! What a hog!
