Oh, this looks horrible. Downtown looks blown to bits, and bleeding people everywhere. I’m aware the news are probably picking and choosing what to show, but I’m still freaked.
Seven patients received at the ER.

Two deaths.
The police just confirmed it as a bombing.
Hi all. I’m visiting my parents in Pennsylvania right now. Following the story as well as I can from here.
Thanks for the updates, Septima.
I think you missed out “the one that was killed”. Otherwise it just looks like you’re questioning whether or not Norwegians post here.
While I’m sure of our Norwegian friends’ safety, I hope the political repercussions are not huge and the cleanup uncomplicated. My deep sympathies.
No I was trying to suggest that it was unlikely that those few Norwegians who do post here would be in the area(s) of the explosion(s). But as that sounds dickish, I’ll shut up now.
Now it’s “several” deaths.
The first terrorist attack on Norwegian soil since WWII.
Press conference soon.
Reports I’m seeing are pretty jumbled. Some say multiple explosions. Others suggest just one, though big enough that pieces of buildings were still crumbling and falling to the street for several minutes after. Some say car bomb(s), another that the blast was inside the building with the Prime Minister’s office, and the wrecked car(s) just part of the damage.
Latest report says “several” killed and “many” injured, but it’s not clear that rescue personnel have gotten to all the areas inside where people may have been. The reported casualties may have been just people who were out on the street.
Wow - I just looked up some stories and it looks really bad.
Two deaths, fifteen injured. Police have no theories about who may be behind this.
I am mildly concerned about my ex-wife (all right I know that sounds snarky, but I’m being honest). Apparently the blast was near Oslo University’s library, and if she was doing research in Oslo as she usually does at this time of year, that’s where she would be.
Especially considering we’ve had several posters post about how they were within earshot of the explosions.
No, she should be safe there. “Oslo university library” probably means she was at Blindern, which is well away from the explosion. She may have been somewhere at the old university downtown (is her research area Law or Medicine?), in which case she probably felt the blast quite clearly, but is not within the destroyed area. As I said, Málm was at work downtown. He was in one of the buildings in the old university complex, and he is safely home now. The explosion is three-four streets away.
What’s happening at the youth camp? UK media are struggling to keep up/translate?
Things just got weird here. A man dressed as a policeman has started shooting wildly at a youth camp about an hour away. May or may not be related.
Finally, a little bit of the story being reportedhere.
Jesus.
From BBC: “AFP report police say Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg had been due to attend a rally of his Labour Party’s youth section on the island of Utoya where a gunman reportedly opened fire earlier.”
I found the humanities library at Blindern, but her work is in archival material (medieval sagas and the like), so she may have been downtown.
