Out With the Old, In With the New, Happy New Year! MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Hockey tonight, before the Acorn Drop. It’ll be nuts.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Cupcakes!!!

Moon, i’ll have some for you.

Good morning all. Typing this from the Tire place while I get new tires installed, aligned, balanced and get a oil&lube job besides that. Using thier free wi-fi, which I figured out all by myself.

Last night was profitable, went to the Burger King and coming out, there was a $10 bill just laying on the ground. No idea where it came from and it looked so lonely, so I gave it a good (albeit temporary) home in my wallet. Since dinner was only $8.80, I came out ahead in the deal.

Happy Birthday Cupcakes!!

Hope you continue to get better, FCM.

Beck, ya think it’s kidney stones? Hope you feel better.

swampy, haven’t even though about New Year’s day dinner, maybe I’ll use the Logan’s Roadhouse card I got to have their beastloaf, which is the closest I’ve found to Mom’s recipe (she baked it rather than grilled it, but the taste is nearly the same).

All y’all have a good 2’s day.

The tea is soothing, so yay! My clothes are in the dryer, and as soon as Roxy goes down for her nap, I’ll assume the recline position.

**FCD **is working, of course. The man doesn’t know how to take a day off…

Today is my 36th anniversary. God I’m old.

I came on into irk even though I still feel bad. Throat is still very sore. We are only irking a half day today. I just made a grocery list as I gotta brave the store on my way home. I hope I can still get some collards and dry peas. Or frozen or heaven forbid canned. I shouldn’t have waited until the last minute. I saved my ham bone for the peas.

Tahred and sleepy. We make it a point not to go out on NY Eve. Probably be asleep by 9PM. Here’s hoping there are not a lot of fireworks tonight. My critters are skeered of them.

Happy New Year everyone!
Happy Birthday Cupcakes

FCM, if you want something fun and soothing to watch, try Turner Classic Movies. They’recurrently running a Thin Man marathon.

Thanks for the birthday wisher everyone! But I never thought I’d be this age.

Gee, **Butters **- did I forget that you and I married in the same month of the same year? Our 36th was Dec 9. He and I both sorta forgot it till our daughter mentioned it. Yeah, old…

Roxy is having her pre-nap bottle - she has a bottle before nap and at bedtime. The rest of the time, she eats like a little garbage disposal! Anyway, once she crashes, I’ll assume the position.

Coughs are fewer, sniffles are also fewer, but I’m still draggy - probably because I woke during the night, then woke early this morning. I hope I get into a more normal schedule soon.

Back from the doctor. The bronchitis is gone, YAY! However, I do have the beginning of COPD. That is to be expected after 40 years of smoking. It shouldn’t progress since I no longer smoke. Stopped at the store for the makings of fettuccine with lemon cream sauce and got out as the place was getting packed. I scored cheap chocolate. Bought my friend all the Reese trees left, about 10. I did save one for myself for tonight.

We just finished Loch Ness. I think it was on Amazon Prime. It’s only one season, but sufficiently well written and with good characters. You’ll need your closed captions though, but if you watched Hinterland you know that. Have you watched Shetland? It’s really good.

Nothing else to report. I’m thinking I need to get dressed and walk down to the market and get a block of Monterrey jack cheese. I’ve realized we only had cheddar and I don’t think that’s what we want for enchiladas.

Happy Birthday, Cupcakes!!!

Later

I have seen Shetland, but it’s worth another watch. I especially enjoyed it because I’ve been to Lerwick, so I recognized some of the scenes. And I’ll definitely look for Lock Ness.

I’m wrangling Roxy for another hour or so. Not particularly restful for me…

One million people at the Kavanaugh Kroger, and ten million at the Cantrell Kroger, and every damn one of they buying black-eyed peas!

…aaaaand she just went down for another nap! Guess I wore her out!

Happy Cupcakeday!

Happy new year the rest of you.

I’ll probably be up til midnight, but I’m not going out. I get a decent view of any fireworks in town from the window. I’ve had to work too many New Years’ Eve nights and the following mornings to get excited about it all, especially when I was securitating… When did 2020 stop being the distant future? I’m sure we should all be eating food in pill form and wearing spangly silver jumpsuits by now.

Happy Birthday Cupcakes!
Home from the store, most of the groceries have been put away, and lunch has been eaten.
Getting ready to take load 4 out of the dryer, put load 5 in the dryer, and hang load 6 on the drying rack.
Then I get to carry all of it upstairs and put it away. I’ll probably carry 1-4 up now, and worry about 5 and 6 later. I can’t carry all 6 loads up the stairs at one time anyway.

It’s getting cloudy and windy outside, even though it is 48 degrees out there it feels cold.

I’ll be irking my normal shift tonight. I get off at 11. Whether or not I stay up until midnight depends on how sleepy I am.
I guess I’ll get to see how Echo handles fire works. Ripple mostly ignores them, sometimes barks at them, but he isn’t scared of them.

I braved the store on my lunch break at irk. This meant I had to bring the cold stuff inside to put in the fridge and had to throw out old stuff to make room. Now I see I don’t have my carrots for my pot roast that is bubbling away. We just shan’t have carrots. I have some sweet taters that I may chunk up instead. I did it before and it was yummy. And it’s orange.

Hubs is napping and snoring. Both his helpers have been gone and his phone rings nonstop since it’s still hot here. He asked me not to let him sleep too long. He said they will not both be gone again at the same time. I don’t believe he will prevent it though.

Tahred and sick and sick and tired.

Roxy didn’t sleep too long, but she had the decency to wait till her Mama got home, which works for me.

I’m trying to decide what supper will be - make something, order in, or go out? Decisions, decisions… don’t wanna brain.

Happy Birthday, cupcakes!

And I hope your day includes cupcakes! Or a whole cake!

Butters, you got married on New Year’s Eve? That must have been some wedding reception!

Beck, I kept checking yesterday to see if you’d posted about The Experience. Did you get a surgery date? What’s the deal on painkillers? Who’s home with you today?

I plan to stay home and watch old movies tonight, maybe with cocktail in hand. Then I hope to be in bed and asleep by midnight. I told my kids next year my vision will be normal again because it’ll be 2020.

You can see why they groan and roll their eyes at me.

Pizza being delivered for supper. Poor driver is being tipped with a handful of quarters because we’re out of paper money. But it all spends the same, right?

Except for the physical condition of then house and totally losing track of when Monday is (see previous MMP for an example) it hasn’t been a bad year; maybe slightly above average. What tipped the scales was getting my transfer and the new place working out as well as I expected/hoped it would. But ------ based on what I read in the entrails of the chicken I sacrificed yesterday Baron Samedi says 2020 is going to suck big time. 366 days will tell if he was right or not.

Yes, my husband is self employed and needed a tax deduction that year and that is the truth. It was a small affair. Was cold, very cold and we had a tongue tied justice of the peace come to the house along with two friends as witnesses. The deed happened around 4PM. Around midnight we hear thump, thump, thump and it was the firewood we ordered earlier in the week being delivered We were never so happy to see wood as we were on our last few logs. That was the coldest place we ever lived. The only heat was two wall heaters and the fireplace. Our dog actually got up on the hearth it was that cold. It has been quite a ride.

Pot roast, English peas and biscuits were et and cleaned up after. Now lying down. I am puny. Still got the putrid throat. FCM will get the reference from *Poldark *.

All youse going out please be safe. No drinking and driving. Please. We need all of you back here tomorrow. BTW I drank a bottle and a half of Champagne the other night and like an inexperienced drinker puked it all up. Was fun while it lasted. I know TMI. Can’t hold my booze anymore.

Happy New Year!

I just came back in to say I want a spangly silver jumpsuit. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re gonna need a lot of tax deductions this year too. I took healthy chunk of money out of my IRA to buy this house.
