Outlook 2000 email reply behavior

I have a bit of an email quandary that a bigger mail nerd than I might be able to help with.

Outlook 2000, customer has 2 email accounts:

Primary mail account with her ISP
Secondary mail via secondary source

Both are standard pop accounts

The secondary account cannot be used to send email, not a problem, I have the outbound server set to her primary account. This is not a problem with a new email, but whenever an email comes in on the secondary account that is replied to, it tries to send via the secondary account.

I can manually select which account sends via the drop down arrow next to the send button but replies to emails on secondary account always default to the account that cannot send.

Is there any way to force a reply on the primary account even when the default behavir is to be the secondary. I have no problems with a registry mod or something like that I just want to get this working.

1 bump for luck

Well, if we’re bumping…

Did you triple check with Office Updates to make sure you’ve got all of the Outlook updates?

And, by any chance is your client on Comcast?

Check this out: http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/sendaccount.asp

And this EE thread (you should be able to see the answers aaaaallll the way at the bottom. There’s quite a few but no resolution): Solved: Send mail from secondary account in Outlook 2000 | Experts Exchange

All updates in place, not on comcast, attyahoo is the main and a place called redshift is the secondary. Of course Redshift (along with pretty much every other ISP) won’t let you send via their server unless you are connected via their service.
