Ow, My Hangover, Or How We Became Catholic: An MMP

Well, since a clothesline is more ecological and my underpants only have the three holes they were born with, Eurodopers are welcome to come chant. Just not at sleepytime hours, mkay?

Mornin’ y’all! It’s all cloudy here but no rain yet. So, soon as I’m done caffienatin’ Ima go start mowin’ lawns. With any luck I can get everything (including my own) done this mornin’ and maybe it’ll rain this afternoon. I lurve the smell of freshly mown grass especially if it rains on said grass right after mowin’.

Dinner went well last night. Birthday girl was quite pleased with her dinner. A culinary triumph as always!

I’ll be back later to comment on stuff as needed.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!

Off to work.

'Sposed to rain here today, but it was severe clear during the morning commute.

I’m getting closer to being finished with my taxen. I bought TurboTax yesterday, and I might actually get it installed tonight…

I need beerverages, and it’s only 0830…

Help! Cuteness overload!

Ow ow ow, rosie! Too much cute!

Morning, everyone.

Yawn.

I’m up late, and about to go grocery shopping. It’s cold outside, but I think I’m resigned.

I’ve just (in a spirit of hope) been through my summer tops, and I think I need a bunch of new ones. I’ve been feeling environmental and crafty, so I might thrift-shop and remake for summer. Maybe on Friday.

Oh, and grr, my hours at work have just been cut a little. I understand why, but I’m going to miss the extra bit of money. I’ll just take extra shifts, I guess.

I hate cute. I live with it every day.

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the kind wishes.

As to one handed methods of a bra, everything is difficult. I was so happy yesterday when i realized my hand had healed enough to pull up my pants with both hands. Otherwise it was just embarrassing. And I can finally comb my hair with my right hand again.

I forgot to tell you guys the good news. I went to the eye doctor last week and my eyes are all better! Starting tomorrow I can go back to contacts! Wooohoo! I’m a little nervous because I don;t want it to happen again, but also excited.

Morning, all. Caffeination is in progress, and I’m facing a day of work, work, work, with a doctor’s appointment stuck in the middle. Unless I’m imagining things, Papa Tigs never did the tax prep work I needed him to do last night, so that’s a good excuse for putting off the taxes one more day. Hey, I’m the queen of procratination at tax time!

Those kittens are just too cute, rosie. I had to limit myself to ten clicks or I’d be sitting here clicking all day long!

One-handed bra-putting-on is actually easy, Meeks – sling it around your waist wrong side out and back to front, hook it with your good hand where you can see what you’re doing, then turn it around and slide it up. Socks are more of a challenge, obviously.

I looked at the music schedule for the French Quarter Festival, and I have a Major Dilemma – on Saturday, Papa Grows Funk and Walter “Wolfman” Washington, performing on the main stage, are conflicting with the Rebirth Brass Band, performing on the brass band stage! Help! How can I clone myself to be two places at once? I don’t want to miss a note of any of them! (At least there’s no competition for Jeremy & the Zydeco Hot Boyz – a bunch of teenage kids who would absolutely blow your socks off!) But it looks like more than half the brass bands no longer exist. Or at least not in a form sufficient to enable them to play for the French Quarter Festival, where they’ve been regulars since the festival started. This makes me very, very sad. :frowning:

Okay, I guess I should do something besides drool over the music I’ll be listening to this weekend. Like caffeinate some more.

Woo! Hump day. Nice and sunny, if chilly out there. S’posed to warm up a fair bit today, but there’s also s’posed to be a storm coming, too. I just hope it holds off 'til the evening, 'cos I forgot my umbrella. :smack:

There was a bunny hiding in the bushes outside my workplace this morning. It bolted as soon as I approached the shrubbery, but it was a cute, light-brown little leporid. The underside of its tail was flaring danger-Will-Robinson-white as it bounded towards the back of the building.

Nava - Wow, they’re banning alcohol advertising? They did that with tobacco on this continent, but there’s no way that would ever fly with alcohol, and beer in particular. It’s just too firmly entrenched in the culture here. Plus, the Superbowl halftime ads would be boring.

(Firefox’s spell check is funny. It doesn’t know “Superbowl,” but it helpfully suggested “superb owl” as a possible replacement.)

Rosie - Virtual online knee surgery? Sheesh. What happened to the good old days when medical simulations included tweezers, a buzzer, and an illuminating red nose?

Horrible puns. A few even made me grin. The Random Kitten Generator is entirely too cute for its own good. However, its title made me think that maybe I could make my own kitten out of random parts of other kittens. I was strangely disappointed.

I think I am now diabetic from those kitties…

Congrats on all those here who are better and doing well.

There is an inch of snow out there! Tis April 11?!? So much for gardening.

happy Wednesday, all.

Foggy here this ayem. But the cool is going away for the time being. Should be mid 80s. I have warn bermudas in honor of the return of warm. I actually like this current fashion trend.

nava, congrats on the good visit.

meeks, glad you are on the mend.

rosie, squeeness ensues.

Good mownin’ swampy.

Hump Day is Jericho day. Anybody else still watching?

Tupug

Howdy, howdy, howdy. Intersting **MamaTigs ** mentions **Lapin **'s gross chunky earwax. I just got off the phone with the surgery center, where I’m taking Le 9 Year Old to have his ear tubes taken out. He’s had them for nigh on three years, and ENT doc says they probably shouldn’t be in any longer than that. We plan to spend time on the lake this summer, and dirty lakewater in be~tubed ears = ear infections galore, I can just see it. So out they come. But – while in the office, the doctors always let me look in at the tubes, which is somewhat interesting. This last time, one was encrusted … or maybe begunked with nice gooey globs of wax, “which is normal,” Dr. ENT proclaimed. Goopey and yucky, though.

I’ve got my office TV tuned to American Movie Classics. Normally I watch CNN all day long, but I Have Had Enough of the Imus Crisis!!! Good lord. I’m as outraged as anybody, but we don’t need 24/7 coverage of a dumbass. I can go to the Pit here at the Dope if I need that. Anyway, James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause is on. The teenagers in their bobby socks and clean spiffy tough-guy jackets are so cute.

Oh and glad all were amused by my naughtiness. FCM knows I love her dearly. Enough to rag on 'er. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s freaking snowing ice balls on me.

In April.

:frowning:

We had snow here last week. I kept blaming “blowing flower petals” until it became a BLIZZARD! In April. What’s next, the Apocolypse??

This is supposed to be my day off. Note that I am posting, which means I am at work. Therefore I am grouchy, random kittens or no.

Good lord rosie, I’ve been blinded by cuteness… but I… can’t… stop… clicking…

Its another nice day here in Michigan. I drove to work this morning in a blizzard. Yes, a blizzard. Not a ‘dusting’, or ‘flurries’. A blizzard. [Lewis Black]A blizzard! In mid-April! They didn’t even write about this kind of weather in the Bible![/Lewis Black]

It’s SNOWING!! Like real snow, not just flurries! Sheesh.

Snow scheduled for tomorrow here, too!

MentalPieceofland, Socialist government. To them, Tradition is the opium of the people, or at least a part thereof. The parts of Spain where they get most votes aren’t big on wine/beermaking, being either urban or the South. The South has quite a lot of famous wines (Sherry anybody? Spanish brandies?) but, y’see, they are perceived as being “something owned by rich señoritos only.” Rioja, Galicia, Duero, the rural parts of Catalonia… are all places that sit quite streadily on either the Social-Democrat or Nationalist sides.

Lilbro said one of the jokes many newspapers were running is that history books would now come with blacked-out spots. No more Napoleon, Lepanto, Carlos III, Caballero(s) (knights), Duque de Alba…

rosie, that webpage should be illegal. Does the diabetes foundation know about it?
