According to Zap2It, Paige is being let go from Trading Spaces in March as they “transition to a host-less format.” The article speculates it may have something to do with a striptease she did at a party(?) or rumors concerning a sex tape(!).
Trading Spaces without Paige… I dunno. She’s a pretty big part of the show, IMO.

The strip tease was last June, a charity fundraiser, “Broadway Strips” I believe it was called.
Apparently Paige got up and pretended to strip. From the pics I’ve seen, she pulled her dress up over her waist, exposing her thonged ass. She also let people put dollar bills in the sides of her panties and in the top of her dress. Pretty good pictures, overall.
I don’t know if this is the reason she was fired. I also read there was a rumor of a video, but none ever surfaced.
Dayam. This kind of stuff resonates of the Morales Clauses of the good old days of Hollywood.

While showing off her thong maybe wasn’t the brightest thing she could have done for charity, did it impair her ability to “take her seriously” on Trading Spaces? Not likely.
My cousin was a high school teacher in a small Indiana town in the mid-70’s. She was drinking a beer at a restaurant when one of her student’s parents saw her. She wasn’t drunk, she was just drinking a beer. The next day, the principal called her in to “discuss her image in public” as this parent had called to complain. :rolleyes:
You know, I kind of appreciate Paige more after seeing those pictures. She was getting to be a little too femmebotesque – nice to see that she does indeed have a spontaneous side.
Trading Spaces new format (coincidentally heavy on “spontanaeity” of the worst sort, the planned sort) has caused it to jump the shark. While die-hard fans will keep watching sans Mippy, it’s ready for the scrap heap of reality TV history. And hey, maybe now she and her husband will have time for the baby she’s been publicly talking about wanting for the last three years.
Not knowing anything about the specifics, if it’s the fundraiser I’m aware of it’s called “Broadway Bares.” It’s an annual event sponsored by Broadway Cares, an organization devoted to raising money for AIDS causes. If PD was fired from a decorating show for performing in a show to raise money for AIDS relief, then fuck Trading Spaces.
The sex tape appeared back in December. It was taped back in 1997 and features Davis and her then boyfriend.
The rumor is that she has three sex tapes extant. Considering Banyan Productions nearly had a cow when she posed for the cover of TV Guide wrapped in strategically placed strips of wallpaper, I’m not surprised this happened.
Huge mistake, IMO. Paige is the glue that holds that show together. She rides herd on the carpenters, the homeowners and the designers while being perky and charming enough to get away with it. Is it a coincidence that TS took off when the dour (albeit attractive) Alex McCloud was 86’d for Davis? I don’t think so.

Well, in the mid-90s, I was fresh out of college and working as the Asst. Director in a Childcare Center. I ran into one of the Daycare Dads at a bar and he proceeded to use the worst pick-up line ever on me. (“Come home with me. You’ve seen I make beautiful babies.”) Um, no. Apparently this didn’t sit well with him so he complained to my boss about my behavior and yes she had a discussion with me about me behavior and the image I was projecting. By having a beer. In a bar. At the age of 22. And NOT sleeping with one of the parents. I think she missed that last aprt.
What I’ve heard is that they don’t have plans to replace her either.
I think this is actually good for Paige. The show is on the decline and better for her to leave now than to get stuck on sinking ship.
Now is Paige and that Scottish babe from Changing Rooms would make a sex tape, together, I would pay top dollar for that.
Let me be the lone dissenting voice.
First, the creators of Trading Spaces may have thought there was too much of a cult of personality swirling around Paige and wanted to prepare for her eventual departure. Diversification sometimes makes sense.
Otto, no disrespect, but Paige’s judgment was really faulty, IMO. I’ve done lots of high-profile fundraising gigs and one thing that all of the major players must keep in mind is that, when considering anything unorthodox, you have to worry about possible fallout/backlash from the public and from your corporate supporters. I don’t know anything about the fundraiser in question, but I’m guessing the Trading Spaces creators thought Paige was too loose of a canon and this was the last straw.
Having the star of a corporate-sponsored TV program baring her thonged butt and being sexually suggestive to the point of inviting an audience of nonprofit workers, corporate sponsors and presumably AIDS victims to stuff money into her panties, isn’t a terribly smart play–from a corporate perspective. That kind of thing just isn’t done and it doesn’t, IMHO, show a great deal of sensitivity to AIDS victims and the cause itself. YMMV, of course. 
On a different note, if Paige IS gaining weight, that’s enough for a producer to dump her. Once you lose your girlish perkiness, you’re toast.

OK, first off, calling people with AIDS “AIDS victims” rather disqualifies you from making pronouncements about what is and is not sensitive to them. Secondly, your overall comments on the appropriateness of the fundraiser are mystifying to me. Broadway Bares, which has been around for years and is a highly respected and highly successful fundraiser, melds Broadway and burlesque. It is not a sex show. It is not obscene. You make it sound like PD was twirling her tassles in a g-string, which apparently is not the case. If Banyan is so prudish that they think this is grounds for termination, then I reiterate, fuck Trading Spaces.
