Palin's vigilantes

You might be a liberal if… (from replies):

Guns. With gun sauce and a side of guns. And Single-payer healthcare, abortion rights, equal rights for homosexuals, and maybe some nice salmon.

Sorry, the local crazies have been drawing my attention lately; what with throwing barrels of human blood over the PMs home and government house, grenades going off everywhere and loud protests causing sundry inconveniences.

Spot of bother, that.

Confronting random strangers in the parking lot over their political beliefs? Yeah, I’m sure that scheme’s going to end well.

I like you, Johnny L.A.!

That is all.

She’s not really condoning accosting Obama sticker drivers. Shes just fucking stupid. “So how is that hopey, changey thing working out for you?”. THAT?! That is her contribution to public discourse.

I liked McCain but now eternally curse him for dredging this blue-light special Jerry Springer extravaganza from the trailer park sticks of bumfucked Alaska.

She is fucking stupid but I see no reason to think she doesn’t really want to provoke confrontations. “That hopey-changey thing” is line from a speech she gave a while back. She thinks it’s clever. She thinks she’s actually scoring points with it. She wants her fans to go out and spread her catch phrase.

Subaru? Aren’t they part of the Toyota Group? I thought they loved Toyota for not putting up with all that union crap and being located in the South.

I’ve given up trying to make sense of wingnut mythologies anymore. It’s an incoherent laundry list of things to grouse about.

I’ll bet the libruls use tire gauges on their Subarus!

Can I have extra salmon instead of the guns?

You can, but the salmon are packing heat.

Wait - Subarus are liberal cars? So liberals are in favor of fast, well-made cars that never break down? Good for them.

Nope, Subaru is part of Fuji Heavy Industries. All their American plants are in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.

And I can’t call my Subaru a fast, well-made car that never breaks down. I’m going to have to junk mine because the entire power steering system needs to be replaced, the cooling system is being unpredictable and it keeps overheating in the summer, the heater/AC switching system doesn’t work, the interior is coming apart, it needs a new CV joint, new tie rods, and already had the struts replaced. Of course, it is a 1995.

Hmm, the Wiki article on Subaru says that Toyota owns 8.7% of FHI and that Subaru has been “part of the Toyota group” from 2007 onwards. So, I guess that means that Toyota manages the sale and distribution of Subarus in the US? Or does that mean something else?

It seems an odd thing to object to, but let the record show: if Sarah Palin gets her way, there will be NO change…and no hope.

(Ohh…bumper sticker! “Vote Palin in 2012, for no change and no hope”)

It isn’t that Sarah Palin is a moron (she is), or that this whole idea is ludicrous (it is that, too). It’s that there are teabaggers who will do this because she told them to.

I don’t drive a Subaru, and I don’t have any Obama bumper stickers on it. But maybe I will just so I can fuck with the teabaggers. That might be fun! I’ve got my counterarguments in place; something about 10% unemployment and budget deficits out the wazoo being acceptable to them might do it, but I also get a certain satisfaction in knowing that they’re being tools who are manipulated a hell of a lot more than any Obama-ite I’ve ever met, and I know a whole lot.

If people actually do get confronted because of what Palin said, and such confrontations rise to violence, as seems probably though hopefully not inevitable, of course Palin will deny having actually inspired any violence.

But the outcome of a recent Minuteman, in which volunteers who were asked to come “locked, loaded and ready” surprised organizers by actually bringing guns. Of course, these organizers had the good sense to see how this could make them criminally liable if something went wrong, and disbanded their organization to make their distancing from these people quite clear before some dipshit actually kills somebody. Palin, on the other hand, will naturally maintain her stridency even after some dipshit actually kills somebody while denying that she inspired any such thing intentionally or otherwise.

Palin’s an evil bitch in a homey package, but I think you are over reacting. “stop them and say” is just a turn of phrase and means nothing more than if she just said “walk up to them and say” or “call out to them and say”. Also, what it is she suggests be said “hows that hopey changey thing etc” is not agressive or angry but just mildly teasing.

Suggesting that she is hinting at support for physically stopping people for thuggish purposes is a stretch. Let’s comment on the substance and not just sound like whiney paranoids.

I think we should steal it. I want a t-shirt that says “How’s that hopey, changey thing working out for ya?” on the front, and on the back, “Great! Thanks for asking.”

It is cute and clever, IMO. That’s why we should co-opt it, turn it around on her/them.

You can’t have guns, gun sauce, abortion rights, homosexual rights and salmon without the guns!
