Yes, Palin’s business of suggesting people undergo physical harm must stop.
Yours, of course, since you’re a liberal, is perfectly OK. But that bitch Palin, she must be stopped.

At least DianaG does not aspire to become President of the U.S. with her violent rhetoric.
I just don’t get how the organizers and leaders can be this stupid. It’s like Palin when she explains how “Don’t retreat, reload!” doesn’t really mean reloading, as if anyone who could possibly take it that way were simpleminded children.
But the leap of logic is more like a few steps, honestly. The Second Amendment is ostensibly there to ensure that civilians have guns as a way of defending themselves from an oppressive government. In these peoples’ eyes, the current government is being oppressive. Their leaders are using lots and lots of encouraging words relating to guns. Is it that big of a logical leap to conclude that they really are advocating armed resistance? Especially for people who aren’t used to thinking critically, or even all that metaphorically?
You know Bricker, you used to be fun.
No… that wasn’t you. Never mind.
It’s called humorous irony, dear. But even if I was dead serious, at least I’d be advocating her death based on her thinly veiled calls to violence, and not just on her political opinions.
Don’t know if she’s using some kind of secret code to promote political violence, but she is definitely encouraging people to behave like rampant douchetools in public. Why is it good to promote juvenile name-calling in parking lots across the land? Yes, political bumper stickers are annoying look-at-me sillyness, but why not tell your people to raise the level of discourse by writing a well-sourced guest editorial or something? My bet is that the worst incidents stemming from this will be some 5’ tall neo-hippie college girls getting screamed at by dudes old enough to be their grandpa.
Up till now, I though Palin was a vapid cunt, who had gotten by on her looks her whole life and that the main appeal for the men with age-related dick problems who support her is that she looks better than their wives, so if they keeping chanting, she’ll keep prancing around on stage.
Now, I hate her.
Not because of the name calling horseshit, but because my beloved Subaru is now more likely to get keyed. Why the fuck do they have to pick on the car I own? I already get juvenile shit like “Don’t let your wife drive that Lezbaru, dude!”, now I’m going to get finger-pointing “You’re a Liberal! Ha ha!”. I’m NOTHING! I just want to be left the fuck alone to make money and enjoy myself. My car is not a fucking political statement! It’s not terribly fuel efficient, it was made in fucking Japan, by a Japanese-owned conglomerate. If we want to single out a car brand to associate with talk radio style imaginary liberals, how about union built and (partially) government owned GM? Bonus points because they are getting a sales boost from ‘liberal mainstream media’ mass hysteria about Toyotas. Fucking syphilitc whore.
They will get my Subaru the same way they get my guns-from my cold, dead hands.
I did not know that. If the cars are built in the PNW that might explain why you can’t swing a cat up here without hitting one. I went to Park City, UT in the early-'90s, and there seemed to be a law that everyone had to have a Subaru. Of course, it was (is?) the official car of the U.S. Ski Team, so I could see how they would be popular in Park City.
I have little experience with Subarus. Years ago, they seemed expensive compared to Toyotas. In Park City I saw a lot of rusted-out 10- or 15-year-old Subaru wagons that were still on the road. (Nowadays 10 or 15 years old doesn’t seem unreasonable; but those lived in a harsh environment. Heck, my Jeep is 11 years old, and it’s in great condition.) A coworker who lived in the mountains (Big Bear, I think) had an older Subaru coupé or sedan. It seemed to have held up about as well as, say, a similar-vintage Jetta. (Which isn’t saying much, but it’s not as if it was a POS.)
Perhaps Di should have suggested she go hunting with Dick Cheney, then. Would that be OK?
You see a lot of Subarus in snowy, mountainous areas, including New England, because they make 4WD wagons that don’t cost much. That’s pretty much it.
For a woman that just wants to be left alone and not have her life under constant scrutiny, she sure mouths off a lot.
Green Subaru wagon is the unofficial car of Vermont!
I am getting so frustrated with politics these days. The evil, thoughtless rhetoric is seriously pissing me off. The fact that someone of Palin’s caliber can get any support at all, is mind blowing.
How cool would it be if George W Bush called a press release, and there, standing with him is Cheney, Rove, a couple douche bags from Fox, and in unison they say: “Palin, shut the fuck up!”
PS: I am on Subaru #3. Greatest. Car. Ever!
The statement was obviously rhetorical and not meant to be taken seriously. She can fairly be criticized for ignoring the Bush administrations contribution to our economic mess, but it takes a a real dingleberry to see it as a call for violence. And it looks like we’ve got a dingleberry pie right here on this thread.
Can you really be as stupid and vicious as you sound?
Would it show how old I am if I said I remember when it used to be the Dodge Dart with the Slant Six engine? No 4WD, but it would run forever under all that rust, and it didn’t matter if it went into a ditch anyway …
Well, vicious anyway.
Hey LonesomePolecat, THE PRESIDENT IS BLACK!!!
People who like and listen to Palin are not exactly known for their intelligence.
Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if the idiots that actually see this woman as a leader figure will take it literally and seriously.
Lots of Subaru’s up here in mountain country. That and SUV’s.
How’s that plausible deniability thingy workin’ out for ya?
“Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?”
With so many of the posters on this MB apparently hanging on her every word, why should she?
I heard a news clip of her “hopey changey” one-liner back when she gave that speech. I chuckled-- it was mildly humorous. Doesn’t surprise me one bit that she’s using it to rev up the base. My outrage meter didn’t budge on this one.
Well, since that is a pretty accurate description of the conservative movement in America and her target audience I think we have some cause to be concerned.
Bricker, FTR, I agree with you. And given that, I hope we can both agree just how hypocritical and contrary these two statements are. Though I doubt Lonesome will notice or agree with that.
I am by far no fan of Palin, but I don’t see what the BFD is with this. I watched the speech up to that point and it was just one sentence half-way into her usual empty, jingoistic spiel. It didn’t strike me as a call to action, but just a chance to use her tired “hopey-changey” line.
