I have a E2 running the Weight Watchers On The Go application. I am able to do a hot-sync over bluetooth without a problem but the Open Bridge software can’t open the virtual port that Bluetoth setup bcause the Palm Hot Sync is using the port.
If it was a wired port there would be no problem.
I have to use the Open Bridge software to sync the On The Go application because I get errors otherwise. Any ideas how to get my system to play nice?
Since I haven’t used Open Bridge, I’m not sure I understand your question correctly, but I’ll try…
Make sure HotSync manager is running in the system tray
1b. Make sure Open Bridge Desktop Conduit is not running
Right Click the HotSync Manager and select “Setup…”
Select the “Local” tab
Change the Serial Port to “Com 1” (remember the Port number you changed from)
This will stop HotSync from using the Bluetooth port on your PC/laptop. The Open Bridge Desktop Conduit should now be free to use the incoming Bluetooth port of the PC/laptop.
You can still perform a HotSync operation using the HotSync cable. The Bluetooth port cannot be used by two applications at the same time. To use HotSync over Bluetooth, repeat the steps above and restore the original port number in Step 4.
The other option is to Right Click and “Exit” the HotSync manager to free up the Bluetooth port every time you want to use Open Bridge.
