It’s splattered all over the front page of TMZ. Including a pic of her crying in the police car. The Smoking Gun has samples of outraged emails sent to LA officials over this. If Paris ever wondered if people hated her, she’s got her answer.
Judge just ordered her back to jail. Fox News was delighted to report that she screamed in the courtroom.
CNN says she was ordered back to jail.
Curse you DtC!
I find the glee with which the Fox News tools are imitating and mocking Hilton’s crying to be very distasteful. It’s not that I give a rat’s ass about Hilton or feel sorry for her, but Jesus Christ, show some professionalism. They’re taking an almost sexual pleasure in seeing this woman get humiliated.
If this doesn’t prove to the world what a pampered little baby she is, I don’t know what will.
The intensity of the public hatred and bloodlust for this chick is far more disturbing to me than the unremarkable revelation that rich people are spoiled.
Agreed.
I agree as well, and add that anyone who thinks three days in jail is nothing has never been and has no idea what the hell they are talking about.
IMDB reported on her initial entrance, the others prisoners cheered her arrival.
Yes and thus we should let the spoiling continue.
(I can’t believe I’m posting in a Paris Hilton thread…)
The judge says now she has to serve 45 days instead of the reduced ammount she was going to be in for. I get that he’s pissed off at the sherrif for letting her out, but taking it out on the girl doesn’t seem right.
So, when they act spoiled we should coddle them?
I don’t get this either. She was to serve 23 days.
Why anyone would take their time to write to LA officials about htis is beyond me. And my WAG is that she is getting more “special consideration” in the opposite direction, i.e. making sure she goes back to jail.
I don’t hate her. I think she’s getting a very badly needed dose of reality. I hope it does her good and wakes her up to the real world.
This is a chick who didn’t know what Wal-Mart was. I feel sorry for her in a way…her parents must have sheltered her and catered to her every need, and she thinks she’s above the law and the rules don’t apply to her because (drum roll please) don’t you know who she is? She’s PARIS HILTON!
I think a few tears shed on a jail cell blanket will do her a hell of a lot more than six months of therapy.
Lamar, I wondered that too. Unless there’s some indication the sheriff was pressured to let her out early?
I agree that the judge is making an example of her. It’s an example that needs to be made, however.
She’ll do her 45 days and she’ll live.
I’m saying the intensity of the hatred is out of proportion to the crime.
I also think she was over-sentenced in the first place. Most people wouldn’t go to jail at all just for driving without a license or a 1st time DUI. The “special treatment” is going against her, not for her.
You’re watching Fox News?
I agree. Hilton deserved a smackdown because DUIs aren’t funny, but enough is enough. She doesn’t deserve special treatment for being a celebrity nor does she deserve such intense scrutiny from the legal system. Prosecutors, sheriffs, hell even the A.G. has gotten in the act. Ridiculous given her offense.
I can’t imagine that any other person with a similar offense had a stipulation in his sentence that he couldn’t serve any of the time at home. I can’t imagine that any other offender, mistakenly released from jail by the sheriff, would have been ever shown up on the radar of a DA or judge, let alone hauled back to a hearing and then jail.
She was always sentenced to 45 days. 45 days can become 23 days if the prisoner has good behavior and cooperates with authorities. They said they expected her to behave and thus only serve 23 out of the 45 sentenced days. The 23 number we’ve all heard was based on a contingency of circumstances, which may no longer apply.
Enjoy,
Steven
She’s not going to jail for the DUI, except technically. She’s going to jail for violating her probation twice.
