Heads up Megan Mullally is guest staring tonight.
Great! Even more reason not to watch it!
Aside from Chefguy threadshitting for no good reason, has anyone actually watched this week? Or this season, for that matter?
After starting quite slowly last year, this show has become quite phenomenal this season. Certainly better than The Office and approaching 30 Rock, which seems to be slumping this season. Even Salon thinks so
This episode was one of the best they have done, I think. Ron Swanson continues to be among the more hilarious characters on TV. Nick Offerman has done a fantastic job. Watching this episode was like doing peyote and slowly sneezing for 6 hours. Just incredible.
The OP made no request for positive-only responses that I can see, so your comment is bullshit. For all you know, the “heads up” comment may have been a warning to avoid the ep.
I liked the episode. It’s so silly that they have made Andy into the shoe shine guy, but almost every bit of that little subplot made me laugh.
The show has done a good job of planting seeds of stories and then bringing them out later. Ron and the two Tammies. The assistant and his Canadian bride. Lots of stuff like that.
I liked this episode. But, I think the Halloween episode was my favorite of this season.
That was the first episode I’ve ever seen of this show. I watched Community, which aired previously, and decided to just let the TV run for background noise before The Office. I thought it was great! I watched a couple of the other episodes on Hulu and enjoyed them as well. I plan to start watching this show more regularly.
I really wish NBC would just go for it and start advertising that this show doesn’t suck anymore. Anyone who was turned off in the first season won’t really give it a chance.
Sorry, I agree: threadshitting. If you watched it and didn’t like it, or had some specific criticism to make, that would be perfectly legitimate.
I’ve liked this show from the beginning but I thought last night’s episode was not one of the better ones. I agree that the Halloween episode was much better. The Andy as shoeshine guy subplot was kinda lame but the actor that plays him is great and made it work better than I would have expected.
I’m kind of annoyed that the narrative has become that the show sucked at first but now it’s good. I watched from the very beginning. It was funny, and it was obvious to me that it would be good given the chance. The first 6 episodes had flaws, but anyone unfamiliar with the growing pains on this kind of show needs to revisit that first season of The Office.
It was just too easy to jump on the “It’s just and a Office ripoff” bandwagon, nobody wanted to like it because it defied conventional wisdom.
Rant over. This season rocks.
I could have been a head’s up. But it was a head’s up on the premise that the show is normally watchable. Your comment was basically, “This show sucks, there’s no reason to watch it, and with Megan Mullaly in it, there’s now even more reasons to not watch it!” Seriously - why bother?
