Robertson Asks for Return to God
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday’s terror attacks occurred because Americans have insulted God and lost the protection of heaven.
``We have imagined ourselves invulnerable and have been consumed by the pursuit of … health, wealth, material pleasures and sexuality,’’ Robertson wrote in a three-page statement issued Thursday by his Christian Broadcasting Network.
``It (terrorism) is happening because God Almighty is lifting his protection from us,’’ said Robertson.
Robertson is host of CBN’s ``the 700 Club,’’ a religious television program viewed by 1 million Americans daily. He founded the Christian Coalition and unsuccessfully ran for the 1988 Republican presidential nomination.
In the statement, Robertson said he was filled with compassion for victims of Tuesday’s attacks, and called for a religious revival in America. ``We must come back to God as a people,’’ Robertson wrote.
Robertson said Americans have insulted God by allowing abortion and ``rampant Internet pornography.’’ He also chided the U.S. Supreme Court for, among other things, limiting prayer in public schools.
We have a court that has essentially stuck its finger in God's eye,'' Robertson wrote.
We have insulted God at the highest level of our government. Then, we say, ‘Why does this happen?’’’

Pat, feel free to “return to God” any time you want. The sooner the fucking better. Just be sure to let us know where, so I can come dance on your grave.

AFAIC, he is just proving to me that the enemies are not Muslim fundamentalists, but ALL fundamentalists.
He is terribly misguided…not even all of the Founding Fathers were Christian, so how can we return to God if we were never collectively with him in the first place?
And who said Pat Robertson had all the answers? God? I guess I didn’t get that memo.
(FTR, I am a Christian, just not a rabid one, waiting to jump on someone for the slightest peccadillo instead of concentrating on my own shortcomings.)
Can it be that the leader of America’s most powerful grass-roots political movement is a raving lunatic?

Was God protecting us in 1941?
If God isn’t protecting the US anymore, would Mr. Robinson, et al , please leave the US to go somewhere that God is protecting.
Thank you.
Looks like I’ve got to get out that “We’re Not All Like That” t-shirt again.
