Peanuts, the all purpose food

Call me silly, but peanuts and peanut butter go with virtually everything.

Think about it.

In many Asian dishes, peanuts and peanut oil are common.

Peanut butter goes well on celery, as does cheese. Two very different foods yet they go great on one goofy veg.

You can eat peanuts in a sandwich with many variations; bananas, any jelly, alone or with a little sugar sprinkled on top.

Peanuts with pretzels and beer.

There are so many concoctions with peanut butter anymore it’s amazing.

Any good peanut recipes out there?

chocolate and peanut butter, mmmmmmmm

I will not conduct my own fire drils.

Let me see, hmmm.
Goober Omelet?
Legume Stuffed Mushrooms?
Peanut Pizza?

Ugh, I’ll quit now.

This post is exceedingly inane… let me put my own two cents in:

I think water is best to drink when it is cold, but not too cold, or hot, but not too hot. I also think that peanuts are unbearably bland… unless dry- or honey-roasted.

Bawled peanuts (known as “boiled” elsewhere).

KarmaComa,

There is a reason why MPSIMS exists, to talk about whatever hits your brain, this hit my brain as something to bring up.

Don’t like it? I don’t care

Peanut butter, just by its self. Just give me a jar and a spoon. Hell forget the spoon I’ll use my fingers.

Peanut butter and Ice cream. Yet another wonderful combo.

Peanut butter on apple slices. Although, it’s difficult to peanut butter the slices.

mmm… peanut butter.

peanut butter and ice cream.
Peanut butter and celery.
as a kid, I’d sneak chocolate chips and mix with peanut butter.

noteworthy:
many people are deathly alergic to peanuts.

poor them.

Try cooking in peanut oil. I think you can taste it.It burns at a higher temperature than any oil that I know of.

Justwanna…,
My dad fries fish in peanut oil. Seems it would be greasy, but not like fast food fish. Tasty.
And hushpuppies.
Jeez, can you tell I grew up in the south?

Peanut butter is good, but I prefer almond butter. Almond grinders are turning up in a lot grocery stores. Give it a try.

The coolest thing is that they show up in your dookie in the morning.

What?

Ohmigod! George Washington Carver has been reincarnated as Techchick68!

I hope this doesn’t count as a highjack… I mean, it’s peanut related but I’m still sort of new here and don’t want to step on the toes of my peanutty betters… but, for the love of God, does no one remember Koogle? (as mentioned in this thread: http://boards.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/005966.html ) Am I having some sort of flashback/hallucination combo? Was my mother lying to me? What the hell was she feeding me, anyway?!

Gamera is really neat, he is full of turtle meat, we’ve been eating Gam-er-aaaa…

Know what, Rosebud? I don’t like you anymore.

I was feeling rather kindly disposed toward you, given that my nickname as an infant was Rosebud and all.

But after reading your description of Koogle…

Well, let’s just say that all kind feelings have been replaced by unkind ones.

That is what you get for making me want to vomit this early in the morning.

Bean, who at times is embarrassed to be a legume.

I’m sure the non-Americans will back me up: while PB has it’s strengths, NOTHING, and I mean n-o-t-h-i-n-g beats Nutella. Hazelnut chocolate spread the consistancy of PB, but mwagargglemwahaha so much better.

If I could just find it fat free!!!

Girlbysea (AKA: ChiefScott’s GBS)

Green Bean, please do forgive me for making you want to vomit. I was but a wee child, subject to the whims of my parents, when the Product That Shall Remain Nameless was available. Perhaps they were trying to poison me.

For the record, I happen to like green beans

Well, Rosebud, if you look back at the Food Fight thread, you will see that I did, in fact, vomit.

But I feel better now. Apology accepted.
