Remembering The Pit and The Pedestal from a few weeks ago, I just had to share a customer service story that involved a cable company and didn’t suck!
Talk about a sentence I never imagined posting.
Paying bills today, I noticed my WOW bill was substantially larger than it had any right to be. Did I forget to mail a payment? Get hit with a huge late fee? Nope, apparently a WWE pay-per-view show was ordered, for $35!
I have no idea if this is the standard price for wrasslin’ type shows, seems rather extravagant to me, especially considering I’d rather watch an in-depth 8 hour miniseries on how paint dries in different altitudes.
I ring up my handy-dandy customer service person, with a minimum of button-pushing and only a 3 minute wait, explain that there’s simply no way this was purposefully ordered from my household, pointing out that there’s zero history of PPV ordering whatsoever, wait on hold another moment and voila! It’s removed and handy-dandy customer service person asked if he could install a password-protect on any further PPV services for me since we were there and all.
No dispute. No endless waiting. A few simple questions asking if I had children and what age and if they could have possibly ordered it without my knowledge, polite acknowledgement of my replies and that was it.
Yay!
