"Person of Interest" New Season Started Last Night

Anyone else watching? I really enjoy this show - I know it is a total cliché; it’s a running joke in our house that we can recite the dialogue along with the characters, but John Reese kicks serious ass, Finch is mysterious, creepy, brilliant, and a bit frightening, and I just plain enjoy the ride.

What a fake-out last night - I thought we were finally going to find out what messed Finch’s body up, but no! That’s not it! Good one, writers. You got me.

Plus, I can easily watch this guy for an hour a week.

I catch this when I can. It’s one of those shows where I like the characters and the idea of the show more than I like the plot du jour. There are some guest stars who become reoccurring characters–it would be great if Miles (or whatever his name was on the show last night) became one because I thought he was good. Did that mob guy from Coney Island ever show up again? He had potential and the end of that episode indicated that he’d be back.

But every time they cut to Finch and the woman holding him captive, the story ground to a halt. She was terribly miscast and I just Do Not Care what her plan is.

I was a latecomer to it, but I am enjoying it.

Some of the “Save of the Week” people I could have lived without, but the overall plot-arch looks interesting, and I’d like to see where it goes.

:frowning:  Being a J.J. Abrams production, the payoff will probably be lame.

I liked it a lot more than I expected. The first season seemed to lose a little something at the end, but season 2 started off high.

The darker John is, the better I like it.

Me too. The script writers need to find a way to get Mr Reese out of his suit; preferably into very tiny shorts, or the shower.

Loved that one exchange: “If I were the cop that owned this badge, I might take that deal. But I’m not him.”
“Who are you then?”
“The guy that shot him and stole his badge.”

Mel Gibson managed to.

But no, Caviezel is a stick up his ass conservative Catholic.

So don’t hold your breath.

I like the series, but I hope they don’t spend too much time on this “free the machine” plot. Just get back to John kicking ass.

Both sentences are news to me. Why would a Catholic object to doing a love scene in a movie, especially if it’s with his on-screen wife?

Maybe there was nudity or the suggestion of nudity, or even just kissing a woman who was not his wife. Many religious people object to that sort of thing. They just are not usually in the rarefied ranks of hot Hollywood stars and the question never came up.

Weren’t there flashbacks of him in bed with a blonde in Mexico or something during the first season? And to make it even more salacious, they weren’t married!

That would be awesome!

I can never remember them later, but there’s usually at least one exchange with John and someone whose ass he’s about to kick that just slays me.

I loved the scene last night with John and the Aryan guys - we don’t see the ass-kicking, just the guy being thrown out the window and John walking out with the former hostage, cause he’s just that bad-ass. Mr. Dutch Dog Talker Guy.

All I know is what I read in IMDB. The salt truck comes by weekly.

I know I saw a scene in The Count of Monte Cristowhere he was lying in bed with the actress who played Mercedes. Wouldn’t that have been unacceptable for someone with a strong Catholic faith? Or am I just very disappointed in him.

Besides, there’s nothing wrong with Mr. Caviezel taking a long, long shower and soaping up everywhere and making sure he rinses very, very, VERY thoroughly.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. I approve!

The plots are laughably thin, but I find Caveziel so compelling to look at that I tune in every week. And Mr. Pundit likes the bad ass shooting scenes.

Here is an article about Caveziel prior to his being cast as Jesus. He apparently was an odd duck even then:

Loved the “fight” scene where we only saw the guy get thrown out the window of the Secret Skinhead Hideout (No Girls Allowed!).

Looked at IMDB on Friday and Ken Leung’s only PoI credit at that time was for an episode in November, so looks like Leon will make a return appearance (he now has two PoI credits logged on his profile).

Root’s character reminds me of what Amy Pond might have been if the Doctor had never returned, and if she were nuts, and mean. IIRC, she even said something about “waiting”.

I really enjoy this show, too.

Okay, now I’m wondering what would happen if a companion’s “number” came up, and Reese and Finch met the Doctor…

I don’t watch, but I believe they were filming outside my office on 52nd Street this morning/last night.

It occurs to me that what would happen is fan fic. Off to check. Yep, four stories at least. To quote Frasier Crane, “Quelle surprise.”

Neal McDonough is apparently the same way. It’s very strange to me too, since they both will apparently happily portray serial killers, but god forbid they kiss another woman. Isn’t that why they call it acting?
