Pet pictures!

Best seat will probably change every couple of weeks. That is my experience.

Just stumbled across this. This is me, lo those many years ago, at a lakeside cottage in northern Ontario, wearing my patriotic maple leaf bandanna!

Hey, come on, folks! I want to see more of your cool critters! Here’s one of mine, or at least a bit of him: Ben (l) and Counterpoint nose to nose at the watering trough.

Hoooman, I think I’ll have lunch in the Sun Room, hop to it! I’ve already been waiting three whole minutes.

Everything’s all packed up and ready for storage!

This box wasn’t quite large enough…

My dog Jack is on the verge of a breakthrough. He just wants to love you, little deer!

Nosy Newman

Btw, if I haven’t said it, I love this thread and am so appreciative to everyone that shares here. Every last critter makes me smile and I sometimes just scroll through when I need to lighten my heart, which lately is quite often. Animal peeps are the best peeps.

Looks like Peach also enjoys playing in the sand, judging from the belly-rubbing trail behind him!

I wonder what a dog thinks when he/she sees a vast expanse of ocean for the first time?

My last dog, a Bernese, never saw the ocean, but he did see some lakes from lakeside cottages. He was interested in the view, but unlike many dogs, hated to go in the water. Went in once as a puppy, came right back out, and declared, “never again!”. Here he is with my son, surveying the lake at sunset. He loved looking out over the water, just never wanted to be in it!

OK, that’s enough looking, now back to the cottage for some snacks!

That is a cat who wants something.

(And probably got it.)

Ha! Do you ever snarl, “Newman!” like Jerry Seinfeld?

I do! I’m a huge Seinfeld fan and he is named after the character.

I got my cat a glow-in-the-dark harness, so his black ass is more visible in the darkness. He looks like he’s at a rave:

Well. of course she has a big smile on her face – who wouldn’t, with four cute puppies in her arms!

Unfortunately the reality is a little darker – this is in support of the Ontario SPCA foster program which is looking for volunteers to temporarily foster dogs for a period of up to several months, who otherwise would have no one to care for them. I’d love to help but I know that once I took in one of these lovable pups, I’d never be able to part with it!

You should totally lean into that and get some extra glow-in-the-dark bling (some bat wings maybe) for a special cat-based Halloween.

I’ve been down in California for the past week visiting my parents and some friends. This is Boots, sitting on my dad’s lap. He’s a big boy.

The thing is, he’s not their cat. Yet. He belongs to the neighbor, who got him about a month ago. Her kids decided she needed a cat, so went down to the local shelter and got this guy for her.

He is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met. When his owner lets him out, he comes running over to my parent’s house and begins rubbing himself all over everything, jumping in laps, and so on. They’re in a retirement community, so Boots’ home is really close - that lattice behind my dad is the neighbor’s front door.

I think Boots would rather live with my parents. They are still in denial at this point. They have one cat, and don’t want more. But I can tell my mom is saying that halfheartedly. We shall see what happens.

I guess since I mentioned my parents’ cat in the last post, here is Ollie:
