Pet pictures!

You were quite correct in your original estimation, @wolfpup - Luna is a very smart dog, able to learn from her mistakes. But she is also very affectionate and seems to be happy with her home and life. I’m sure if she had one wish, like all suburban dogs she wishes for something to do: rabbits to chase, dogs to bark at and play with, sheep to herd, something.

Here’s a pic of Luna allowed, because of snowstorm, on my needs-to-be-cleaned Captains Chair:

I think Luna needs to go on the road, circuit-riding to visit all Dopers who want an in person/canine visit from her. Me first, of course.

This happens every day after work … Making Out with Bobby:

Bobby hasn’t had his mouth on and in a three-weeks-dead woodchuck lately, has he?

Tasted more like a squirrel to me.

Luna and I had a good day today.

First we drove up to north of Boerne:

Then went for a 2.5 mile walk, unleashed:

On the way home, stopped at The Point. The Point is a local bar which had the brilliant idea of blocking off part of their parking spaces with food trucks within easily stumbling distance of the open bar (on the right):

Of course, we chose brisket:

It’s dog friendly, so Luna came along (one reason why I chose this for our return). She was nervous and never roamed far from me:

She didn’t beg at first, being content to lay there:

But an internal timer rang, reminding Luna it’s time for her to be treated:

She would not be denied:

Even more than Napoleon at the Moscow suburbs, Luna could just smell victory:

Repulsed! At the last second, repulsed!

(She still got her treats.)

Next time I want to see Luna doing the driving and her giving YOU treats!

Seriously, y’all are lucky to have each other.

Seconded! So true!

@JohnT, among the elusively intriguing things about Luna is the contrast between her resemblance to a wolf (very clear in the third picture up from the bottom, where she’s just getting up on your lap) and her innocent childlike affection. That strange blend of wild canine heritage with being the indefatigable friend of man and his loyal companion is the very essence of Good Dog: like a child who never grows old, always there to love and be loved.

Thanks for sharing the latest experience.

Here’s a short video of Buffy eviscerating a toy. Her goal for all toys is to get a seam open so she can pull all the stuffing out.

Buffy has goals and tenacity.

Hati, my BiL s dog 7 months 75 lbs

I want a dog alas, currently vetoed , although by someone with far more sense and good reasoning than me.
Maybe next year when our daughter is successfully in college.

Sweet looking boy! He’s going to be bigger than my Bernie!

P.S.- If you navigate to a direct image display in Imgur (URL ending in .jpg) and post that, Discourse will show the whole image:

You can get there by right-clicking on image and choosing “view image.” Then copy the URL in address bar and paste here.

ETA: I wish I could remember how I did that but the doggie is soooo handsome that he bears repeating.

Dobies, I love them!

These are my guys, Iggy and Victor:

It’s a full house, to say the least.

Just looking at their pictures made my feel better about the world. Am I going to be billed for a therapy dog visit?

You are a Doper rich in dog.

I grew up with Dobes and still love them even more than I love dogs in general.

“Rich in dog”…I will remind myself of that next time I’m getting generally mashed and stepped on.

Now that I’ve had Dobes, I don’t plan to be without one ever again. Future kitties, etc. will just have to find a way to get along.

Still have yet to meet a dobie named Gillis, tho.

Isn’t it great to find your dog-breed match? I’ve been a fan of pit bulls for a very long time. Our current dog is a pit bull/boxer mix, and I can’t imagine a better match for us. We call her Gracie the wonder dog. I was surprised by her boxer qualities, and to find that I really like them. (Except the jumping and getting shoved with her front paws …). I’m not sure that’s what we’ll get next time, but that combo will definitely get my attention.
