Pete Holmes' 'Ex-Men'

So you all have probably seen these, but I hadn’t…and they’re frigging hilarious.

Basically Professor X is firing various X-Men (mostly) And its a great Patrick Stewart impression.

Here’s Gambit.

I just watched every single one of those; they are fantastic.

Unfortunately, I had to look up a bunch of the characters; I’m not exactly current on comic book events any more.

Whoops! Turns out there’s more than I thought! Still excellent so far tho!

I love Pete Holmes. First found him when he was doing the Batman parodies. Gave me a lot of laughs.

All the ones I see (Storm, Iceman, Jubalee, Gambit, Angel, Rogue, Wolverene, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Magneto, Cyclops) were around by the 1980s at the latest. You are reeeealy not current.

To nitpick…Gambit debuted in 1990, and Jubilee barely gets in under the wire in 1989.

Still, they’ve both been around for almost 30 years.

Of the rest of that list, the most recent is Rogue, who’s been around since 1981 (36 years! Feel old, yet?), and a member for most of that.

Iceman, Angel, Jean, and Cyclops are 4/5 of the original team, from 1963.
Storm, Wolverine, and Nightcrawler joined in 1975’s Giant Size X-Men #1. (Nightcrawler and Storm had their first appearance in the issue, Wolverine debuted several months earlier as an Incredible Hulk antagonist.)
Magneto’s first time as an actual member of the team was…actually hard to chart, due to retcons, but he was the first villain the X-Men faced.

I haven’t watched the videos, yet, save half the Gambit one…which I gave up on because his accent is terrible…

I knew Gambit’s name but nothing else about him. I had never heard of Jubilee. The others I know.

I’d say I pretty much stopped buying comics in the mid 1980s, when I was in college. I had to prioritize my spending because I was poor back then.

I still own the X-Men Giant-Size #2 (and other comics) I bought in 1975 when I was 9 years old; that does help re-establish my comic street red? :stuck_out_tongue:

If you like those, check out Pete’s Street Fighter Red Tape series.

Now that I think of it, maybe her firing should have mentioned the problem of her being a vampire now, after having been bitten by Dracula’s son…

Maybe a bit of maroon…

DYAC!
