I just got my first decent digital camera, and I’ve been on the lookout for more things to do with it to justify its purchase, so I’m in! I’m home sick now, so likely it wont be until tomorrow or Friday before I post my pics.
Here is my first pic. This would be the odd perspective shot.
This has nothing to do with this thread, I just like it because my 2 cats (one medium sized, one fat) like the same kitten bed.
Slee
This is a closeup of the top of my tube of lipgloss.
Since I don’t work, the one thing I consider “work” is going to Bellevue to see my lawyer, or going downtown to see my doctor, or anything else to do with immigration that needs doing. So, on my way to those places (which I have been visiting two or three times a week for the past month or so), this bitty little building is one I see quite often.
As for my weird perspective shot… for now, I present it to you with no information. I wonder if anyone can figure out what it is? Maybe it’s easier than I think. I call it “eye”.
I took this shot of my 10 month old puppy with the Macro function. Other photos coming later.
I kinda forgot about this, but here’s a pic I previously took of an office building on the way to work that got whacked pretty bad from Hurricane Wilma.
There’s also half another building in frame, on the right, that lost a similar amount of windows too. There’s a rumor that that building is condemned. I hope they implode it, there’s some more great pics!
Where is that Court House? I’ve been there, but I’ve been a lot of “theres” so it seems to just be hanging in the space between my ears.
I got a new digital SLR over the Thanksgiving weekend and have been looking for a project to try it out. This thread is just the right thing.
The Macro – a dusty DVD. I didn’t realize it was dusty until I saw the image.
The Building – the old post office across the street from my office. It now houses a small oil company
The weird perspective – looking down the keyboard of an antique piano.
I’m willing to try another assignment when this one closes.
It’s a modified version of PhPix.
Your links don’t seem to work; did you forget to mark the album as public?
The album is set to public, but here they are at a different hosting site.

OH OH!!! I wanna play!
I can post later from home.
I’m so into amature (if crappy) photography right now that i’m annoying just about everyone I know.
i think i’d like to play too
i’ll see what i can come up with
Im not sure how to make links clickable… I will learn but please have patience with me.
I have a feeling i might include more then one per subject… let me know if im breaking the rules. heh

Take a picture of something very close up that you don’t normally look at close up (use Macro or “flower” mode)
- Hehe… This is a Deviled Egg from Thanksgiving day. http://www.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=29826366/PictureID=973717774/a=31438309_31438309/t_=31438309-
Take a picture of a building you pass on your way to work
- This makes me smile every day. http://www.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=29826366/PictureID=839241180/t_=31438309- This just screams my downtown drive under Bartle Hall in KC http://www.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=29826366/PictureID=839241169/a=31438309_31438309/t_=31438309

Take a picture of something from an odd perspective.
- I’m going to have to work on this one… dont have anything that I think qualifies.

Craptastic… I can see I need to find a REAL image hosting site… sorry folks.
These aren’t new, but they all fit the category, and were all taken by me. I’m a pretty serious photographer (amateur, though I do sell some prints from time to time).
Macro: A closeup of a laptop hard drive I took apart.
On the way to work: I pass this barn / house every day.
Different Perspective: Took this about 3 weeks ago in the Ulm (Germany) cathedral
I love the laptop close up; excellent stuff.
Of course, I meant to say harddrive close up.
Forgive the triple post, but I went browsing through the rest of your photos and I gotta say, you have some serious talent there, Jman. I particularly love this image http://www.jordansteele.com/schlicht_streetlight.shtml. Wow.
Thanks! It’s always nice to hear that others like my photos. I’m partial to them, of course, and my family likes them, but it’s always good to hear others.
That image you pointed out is also a favorite of my father’s. It’s interesting, because when that photo was added to my website, it was the last one chosen for inclusion in the update. I really waffled between putting it in my discard bin and putting it on the site. (When I say that, I just mean that I wasn’t going to post it. I don’t delete any of my photos, which is evident by the 60GB of RAW files and post processed TIFs. )
Great job everyone! Please remeber that if you choose to host your own pictures, we may not be able to see them if they’re in some kind of online gallery thing (Webshots, Shutterfly, etc.). You may want to consider uploading them with Imageshack just for click and look ease.
Keep 'em coming!
I’ll start a new thread with a new set of assigments in the New Year. I’ll be sure to post a link in this thread so keep watching!
