That one really caught my eye… I think because of the resemblance to an Impressionist painting.
I have to second the talent factor there Jman. I assume your a professional photographer? Have you been assigned to go to all of those places around the world or do you just travel a lot?
Well, thank you. No, I’m not a professional, though I’m flattered that you think so. I’m just a serious hobbiest. I’ve been pretty serious about my photography for about 2 years now. I learn more every time I go out with the camera, and as I’m sure you can see by browsing my site, I’ve improved a lot, even in the last year. I hope I can continue to improve. I think I’m pretty decent now, but there are a LOT of people out there who are way better…I’m still finding my own style, though it is starting to take more shape recently.
I do just travel a lot. For a while, my wife and I would make a point to visit a new place every month. Due to some job requirements, our travel plans have slowed, but we’re going to Vienna between Christmas and New Year’s, so that should be fun. (I’ve been there before, but 10 years ago…it’ll be great to go again).
Again, thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. If you want, check out my site from time to time, I usually do an update every few weeks to a month.
Heh… you pics are far beyond what I consider my good pics to be.
The sharpness of your pictures is astounding… I didnt realize there was that much difference image wise between my minolta Dimage z-10 megazoom. I knew feature wise, but wow… my camera cant compair to the crispness of your pics… composition aside. Granted my camera cost a 5th of yours… lol not including lenses. I think I’ll start saving my change.
You should see the detail of the full images. It’s all in the lenses. My super-zoom travel lens takes sharp shots, but nothing exceptional. My other 3 are tack sharp, though my two best lenses combined are worth about $1500, so they should be pretty sharp. That said, the best photographers will get better images out of a piece of junk than I will out of the greatest equipment money can buy. I know a lot of ‘photographers’ who own about $40,000 in cameras and lenses and don’t know a darn thing about how to use them, so I end up blowing them away with my relatively meager kit (the whole thing’s worth about $3,000).
Oh, in all my excitement looking at the photos and feeling inspired I didn’t even notice that there was a Jan 1st deadline for this thread! Please don’t hurt me.
