While I have been attracted to many women of all races…and that’s just during this morning’s commute…I’ve been most attracted to Latinas (proportionally). It’s still a pretty white country, so on an absolute basis in my life, it’s probably white women. But relative to their population, definitely Latin women. I think it’s the low aggregate hip to waist ratio.
I tend to like dark guys, especially Puerto Ricans, but I’ll take whatever I can get
The should be low median waist-to-hip ratio.
Male Islander! So sexy!
Hispanic woman here. I voted for white males because my first crushes in middle school were blond, blue-eyed boys, and I tend to be attracted to mostly white guys, including my soon-to-be-ex-husband. I have dated Hispanic guys, and would be open to dating men of other ethnicities. Currently I have a crush on a really cute Asian guy at work, but don’t want to act on it because a) he’s younger than me and b) the old saying “don’t shit where you eat.”
Yeah…this always made me wonder, too. shrug I grew up here, and thus my standards of attractiveness stem from here. I am not sure where the yen (ha!) for Asian men came from though.
Collection of data is valuable because it may confirm or deny a hypothesis, even one that is “obvious” to you, in a manner that the absence of said data cannot.
Results thus far have indicated a definite preponderance of attraction towards Caucasians and a lack of preference for Blacks among SDMB’ers. Without having drawn any conclusions, this is a valid statistical fact.
But I think the more interesting result is in the comments. Some come across as a guarded statement of non-preference in order to avoid any modicum of perceived racism. Is it racist to be attracted to one race over another?
I find myself attracted most often to white men, but my SO is an Asian guy.
Generally, attraction for me is based on the individual.
I don’t like blond guys though.
