Unfortunately he has bad acid reflux and he can’t be laid down flat. So I have had to sleep while holding him upright for the past two months. I thought once he was out of me that I’d be able to sleep without him on me - guess I was wrong.
He is going to a gastro specialist on Monday - finally!!!
My wife claims with only a little exaggeration, that she didn’t get a good night sleep for 4 years between the 2. As the husband I must have got at least 12 good nights rest in.
Good Luck and as you already know, catch your naps when you can and accept offers from trusted family to baby-sit whenever offered.
Boy, NJ Dopers are having a population explosion. A little Briston and a little Skittles so far.
My son had relux problems. We kept working our way up the ladder until we reached the most expensive formula (hummingbird tears flavored with platinum essence, IIRC). That worked.
That was 15 years ago. These days my son is 6’1" and weighs 225. His eating problems have resolved.
Speaking of working up the formula ladder…right now we are at the $45 a can of powder kind that lasts just about two days. He is on EleCare but we aren’t having much luck with that either. I think after this attempt he is just going to have to drink from the Gobblet of Life or something like that. Either that or fairy dust sprinkled in water.
All the doctors tell me this too shall pass - but they don’t have a passing date. So until then I will continue to sleep on my couch holding my child. I think the last time I slept in my bed I was like six months pregnant!!!
