Pirates of the Caribbean..the Movie.

“It’s a space herpe!”

I could never forget Ice Pirates.

Disney’s also doing a Haunted Mansion movie, but it has the possible mis-casting of Eddie Murphy as the lead.

Princess Bride has a pirate…

And it’s rated Arrrrrrr!

I think ‘Disney’ wants all the attractions in the park to have a film tie-in. So at some time in the future you will see “It’s a Small World–The Movie!”.

–technically The Country Bears isn’t a ‘ride’, it’s an ‘attraction’. There is a HUGE theatre where you go, sit and watch these goofy (and horribly outdated looking, imho) animatronic bears sing and do goofy things.

As a Disneyphile…I feel bound by loyalty to go see this movie and hope I don’t end up walking out of it 10 min in the way I did with the Country Bears movie. I am hoping to Goddess that they don’t go through with the Haunted Mansion movie. Disney is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with kind of craptastic filmmaking and Unca Walt’s probably spinning in his grave wondering why oh WHY the evil cheesehead (aka Micheal Eisner)is doing this to his company.

I was in St. Vincent and the Grenadines a couple of months ago and there were pirate ships in the harbour and phony Hollywood types in the bars. I was told that “Pirates of the Caribbean” was being filmed there. Is it possible that this same movie is already being released?

Here’s a pirate for you.

Eddie Murphy in the Haunted Mansion movie? As Master Gracey, AKA the Ghost Host? Or is he playing some other character?

Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny?

It’s coming out in early July, I believe. They’ve been filiming it for a while and well, I would think they have finished by now. I happened to be in the Palos Verdes area last September or so and saw some of the sets they’d built along the beach.

And Max Carnage, I know the joke’s lame, but it still makes me laugh every time.

Which is more terrible: that joke, or that it made me giggle?

I think it’s kind of funny that Disney has decided it’ll make them more money to release movies about rides to keep them culturally relevent rather than just building new rides.

Then again, they changed the name of the Swiss Family Robinson area at Disneyland to “Tarzan’s Treehouse” when the animated Tarzan movie came out. They didn’t really change anything else.

I wonder when they’re going to get around to making Frontierland relevant again. Are we in for new Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone movies?

Goonies was vaguely a pirate movie.

Oh, and is it just me or do Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp look alike?

Actually, they made pretty extensive changes.

Possible???

Pirates of Penzance was supposed to be good, though I haven’t seen it. I guess “successful” would imply it made money, though.

Not in Anaheim, they don’t – the Country Bears Jamboree has been replaced by a new Winnie-the-Pooh ride.

Haven’t seen the show nor the new ride, but from the photos I’ve seen of the old Country Bears, they won’t be missed.

Fear it, for (according to IMDB), it’s a done deal and the movie is currently in post-production. It has the most bizarre cast: Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Tilly, Don Knotts, Wallace Shawn, and Terence Stamp.

Premise: “When a workaholic visits a haunted house with his family during a job interview, he meets a ghost that teaches him a lesson about the importance of the family that he has neglected.”

  1. Why would you take your family along with you to a job interview?
  2. In an old house (unless you’re interviewing to be the live-in butler)?
  3. I wonder which ghost will be doing the teaching?
  4. Do you think Wallace Shawn will play one of the hitchhiking ghosts?

Looks like I can save $8.50, or however much they want for movies these days.

And don’r forget movies made from videogames-
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil

Cuthroat Island…Yargh! She blows!

Nah, I was taking false umbrage at the use of “possible” to describe the miscasting of Murphy. It ain’t possible - it’s definite.
