I think that to the degree this is a “working class issue,” (cite? Definition of working class?) it may speak a lot more to the daily insults, humiliations, dangers, and authoritarian behaviour from bosses than to a culture of romanticizing violence. That is, it is about frustration, anger, power structures (“shit flows downhill!”) rather than some ideas some people may have about violence.
Maybe his kid is Black which would explain his attitude.

He intended to give a mild rebuke, but in the heat of the moment he made a mistake and sprayed fucks everywhere.
Okay, so under pressure, he reached for the wrong words, got mixed up which side of his brain the “respectful correction” was located on and came up with a “fuck you” instead. A terrible accident, no doubt, but this seems like a kind of gray situation. While a “mild rebuke” consisting of the judicious application of non-harsh (or, as the more politically correct term goes “less harsh”) words was clearly justified, I think you could make the case that harsh words were also justified.
We should tempter justice with mercy and demand that the warning be replaced with a very strongly worded mod note. Unfortunately, it seems this forum wants its cake and to eat it too. They want to be safe from misrepresentation but then question the manner in which misrepresentation gets called out. They don’t like the answer “it was time to not be nice.”

He is a cop, so it is nice that he is demonstrating just how dishonest cops are.
And just how very hateful and contemptuous they are.
And just like a cop, he is willing to lie and distort facts, even though he knows that the words that were said are clear to anyone at all.
I wonder how many “criminals” he has lied to his superiors about. If he’s willing to lie on a messageboard just to be an asshole, I’d suspect quite a few.
Looking at how he is reacting to the suggestion that minor changes should be made to make citizens a bit safer in police interactions shows that meaningful changes will never take place in policing.
This is why, when I hear about how cops are resigning due to changes to department policy, my reaction is “good riddance”.
The fact that an asshole like PKBites is entrusted with a gun, a badge, and authority over his fellow Americans is honestly fucking terrifying.
And he and his type are the ones that are training young officers, so this mentality isn’t going away.
It always makes me laugh when an officer is being filmed violating someone’s rights, and he says, “I’ve been doing this job for 20 years.” Yes, and that’s exactly the problem.
I’m sure it makes him laugh too, but for different reasons, and with far more mirth.
Maybe we should just hurry the process along to its logical conclusion and start drone striking inner cities. That way no cops will ever be put at risk, all for the low low cost of hundreds of civilian lives.
We are supposed to wring our hands when any officer is shot. In the last 2 years over 550 of them have died of covid, and yet they strike because of vaccine mandates? Thats the same number that have been shot to death in about 10 fucking years. But asking them to take on slightly additional more risk to lower the number of civilians killed is “vulgar”? Fuck that guy.
He certainly does nothing to improve my perception of the police.
You would normally think that having a member of a “misunderstood” group of people to interact with would make them more understandable and humanize them.
But he goes to great lengths to piss anyone off, and it makes me have an even lower opinion in police in general to see his behavior here.
But they’ll still include that number in the totals they publish of “officers killed in the line of duty”, to make cops seem more heroic for taking on so much risk.
Here’s an idea for police: wear seat belts and slow down. There are typically 20+ deaths a year in auto accidents.
Eat a salad. There are typically 10+ heart attack cases counted in the line of duty deaths.
Both are always included in the total “officer down memorials” every year.
There’s no annual “garbage collector down memorial”, even though more of them are killed in the line of duty, and they perform a much more useful service.
