Plants Vs Zombies

I’m not much of a gardener, but
this game is great.

That is all.

You should have provided a link. Seriously, though, I looked at the trailer, and it looks hilarious.

Sorry, I still have Extreme Fever.

**
Just me, or do you guys hear Ode To Joy?**

I am so totally addicted. I’ve realized I like symmetry in my garden.

Popcap sure delivers the goods, here.

Played the demo and bought the game, it rocks…

Yep, the game is pretty fun.

I loved the trailer, got hooked on the demo and got it.
However, I made sure I bought off of Steam so I could save myself $10 (yeah, i’m a cheap bastard  ) - it’s only $9.99 there

Love it so far - I don’t like “tower defense” games as a rule, but I find this one enjoyable enough.

What’s really fun is to play Audiosurf to the “Zombies on your lawn” song (avail as MP3 on the PvZ website - don’t have a link right now to either Audiosurf or the MP3, I can’t get to those sites at work  )

Just finished the demo: this may be my alltime favorite game! I loved the way it doesn’t just go faster and make more zombies, but then switches to bowling instead.

I think the underlying reason for this is because PvZ is a very active TD, whereas the vast majority of TD games are passive … the difference being that in most TD games, you set up your defenses, sit and well, watch them go to work. It gets boring after the third wave, but I’m kinda boring so I like that aspect of TD games. In PvZ though, you are constantly involved in the gameplay, all the way from the beginning to the end of a round. Every second is a precious resource. This is a rare gameplay mechanic in TD.

Like most, I’m loving the game and am an addict. I think the last time that actually happened was with, well, Peggle and Bookworm Adventures. I don’t know how the hell PopCap does it, though it seems to lie chiefly in replay value and achievement-type goals. I’m slowly trying to accumulate enough cash for the 10-slot upgrade by playing Last Stand and loading the level up with Marigolds, a coin magnet, and a few Tall Nuts collect as many coins as possible before the zombies chew their way through the Marigold patch.

I’ve been addicted ever since I first watched the music video:

Road cones protect my head.

Having only played the demo so far, and skimmed the instructions, I’m wondering how you even know how to do all that advanced stuff. Does it continue to explain along the way, or are you using an outside resource for info? I’m just playing the adventure mode so far.

There really aren’t many “instructions” aside from the tips you get from feeding the Tree of Wisdom that you can buy from Crazy Dave. It’s a pretty straightforward game that doesn’t require much instruction.

I don’t remember what level the Marigold gets unlocked at, but it’s a fairly useless plant from a gameplay perspective unless your sole purpose, like mine, is to put down twenty of them and grab every coin you can on the Last Stand mini-game. I’ve beaten adventure mode, but there is lots of incentive to play through it a second time for more unlockables, which is what I’m doing now. On your second adventure mode attempt, Crazy Dave forces you to use three seeds of his choice on every level, and they are rarely the ones you’d think to choose on your own.

There’s butter on my head…

Love this game. Bought it almost as soon as it came out. Well on my way to a golden trophy, just need to do the last couple survival games.

Anyone have the garlic yet? I’ve heard some people bitch that it’s not so useful, but I found it to be one of the most useful pieces in the game!

I read in the instructions that if a zombie eats your brains, you lose. What does that mean? Do you just have to replay that level, or do you have to start over from the very beginning?

That level only.

whew! thanks.

Garlic is great. It lets you set up 3 rows of powerful defense while letting the 2 remaining garlic rows be sunflower only (though garlic do eventually get eaten, those rows need a bit of defense)

I purchased this game from a website called Gamehouse.com. Is anyone familiar with their pricing system, because the explanations are a little vague to me. There is a 5.99 deal, where you have to buy 12 games over the year, all the way down to a 8.99 deal, where you have to buy two games over two months. Or you could buy the game for 19.99. Then there’s a whole thing about “game tickets,” which I’m not sure if one gets automatically or has to purchase.

Tony, GameHouse has two subscription services:

FunTickets: You commit to buy a certain number of FunTickets over a certain period of time. Each FunTicket is good for one game. The more FunTickets you commit to buy, the bigger your discount. This is a good service to use if you want to basically “own” your games and plan on playing them over and over.

FunPass: Pay a monthly subscription fee and you have access to the entire library of games on GameHouse.com. As long as you pay the fee, you can keep playing the games.
