FYI, I in no way agree with how MBagnall handled this situation. I’m also fully of the opinion that one doesn’t have to be a newbie to be a troll. I can’t believe any of this really happened. It seems childish on both sides. But now that I’m here, I think I’ll stay around for a while. And, for those who think I’ll go away if you just ignore me… I’ve been told I could argue with a fence post, so a blank screen should be no problem!!

I’ve given it alot of thought before registering here.
I guess to some I will be considered a troll,asshole,fundie… take your pick, for the fact that I post on the LB board.
I don’t agree with alot I read there, and don’t post much. Once in awhile there is something that will catch my eye, though.
I’ve only been registered there since Nov.
I don’t normally get into many major debates for the fact if you aren’t going along with what the majority says, you get slammed for your opinions.
I think it’s quite ridiculous everything that happened between the two boards.
I also don’t think it’s fair you aren’t allowed to register over there as a result.
I don’t see where there was an attack, just because the things that were being posted were going against what some of the others believe. I don’t agree with alot I read on there, but was at least open to reading it, and didn’t see it as an attack. It is called Narrow Road after all. From my understanding that is where the contraversial stuff is to be done. If people don’t like it they don’t have to respond to it.
I miss the debates that were started by some of the people from this board. I most of the time didn’t join in, but I liked reading and thinking over the stuff.
As long as there wasn’t cussing etc…,since it is a Christian board, I don’t see where there should’ve been a problem. From what I read the conduct from the people on this board was no different than the ones on that one in the responses to questions.
There are some really good people on that board, and then you have some that think they are right and perfect on everything they say. I’m sure that goes on, on all boards.
As ugly as all this was for a couple of days, in a way I’m glad it happened. I’ve been scanning over here for a few days now, and have seen some interesting and hilarious things. I wouldn’t have known this site was around if this all hadn’t happened.
I don’t agree with how people came over here and started posting all kinds of stuff like they were. It probably left as many members confused over here when it started, as alot were over there when the “attack” thing came up.
What they did was done in anger, and using sharing the word of God as the cover, and I didn’t like that. I don’t feel it was in anyway an honest attempt to share His word. It was to tick you all off, and they did that.
I’m not apologizing for it though, because I didn’t have any part in it, and it’s not up to me or any of the others who choose to come over from there to make amends for a few people’s actions.
Chances are I won’t post much here either. I just wanted it clear in case anyone recongized my name from LB when I do post, that I’m not here to start trouble.

LBMB folks, welcome. I’ve been reading the LB board since Satan turned me on to it (boy, that sure didn’t come out right), and it’s obvious to me that for the intellectual health of an electronic community, diverse=good and homogenous=bad. The more varied the viewpoints around here, the better.
As has been previously pointed out, the SDMB has a fair number of agnostics and atheists, but a number of Christians (of all stripes), Jews, Buddhists, Pink Unicorn worshippers, Deists, Wiccans, and Davidites.
We have raving paranoids, conspiracists, libertarians, bleeding hearts, socialists, Reaganites, and the odd political fence-sitter (very odd).
We have folks with Masters degrees, trade school grads, GED’s, and multiple PhD’s, and people in high school.
And ya know what? We often have respect to go along with all that. Go fig.
So stick around for a while, folks. SDMB is nothing if it ain’t exciting.

Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see anything where people could register again either. I’m usually behind on what is going on anway. Like I said I didn’t realize we were under attack. When I first read the heading I for some reason thought it probably had to do with a new computer virus or something. Then it turned out to be this. How can someone consider being attacked to something they don’t even have to paticipate in? Enough. I’m done with talking about that.
Just thought I’d mention that several of the LBBB members (I think Navigator is one?) have asked the admin to start a new forum there strictly for debate and discussion.
Anybody think that this whole debacle might have a really positive influence on both boards?

I have a question. Someone said, I think in the “For David B., the good doctor, etc.” thread that there was no rootbeer or popcorn here. Is that because it can’t get through the Straight Dope customs, or has it been outlawed because it might be seen as feeding the trolls? Just curious. Personally I’m more of a Mt. Dew or Dr. Pepper kinda guy, but that A&W is nice at times…
