Please identify this 1960s suspense anthology teevee show!

When the “TV Moments the Creeped You Out” zombie thread was revived today, this old show flashed into my mind…

It must have aired on network tv in 1969 or 1970 because I remember watching it at my grandparents’ house, and the Old Dude kicked the bucket in mid-1970. An anthology show like Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock or Night Gallery, as was popular in those olden days.

The opening credits were from the POV of the front car of a nighttime roller coaster, where they stuck a camera. As you went along with the ride, there was melodramatic music. I have no recollection of any of the episodes, just the stomach-churning opening.

Whatever it was, did it really suck? No one ever mentions it here in the “OHMIGOD it gave me nightmares!” threads. And EVERYTHING gets mentioned in those threads. Sometimes I’m shocked at what we find disturbing.

Some creative Googling gives us Journey To The Unknown.

Thank you thank you! I knew there were people here better at creative Googling than me.

So, it was British, was it? Interesting. The folks on IMDB are quite specific about the episodes that creeped them out. Anyone here?-

No idea, I just found the name and reported it back to you, that’s as far as I got.

BTW, here was my search string:
“opening credits” old tv show roller coaster -step

I had to take off the word ‘step’ because it kept giving me Step By Step, which was the first thing I thought of when I read the OP (of course, I knew it wasn’t right).
It lead me to this. I don’t know what changed a few years back, but Yahoo Answers are usually pretty good.

Thank you again, sensei.

Also, to answer your question, I see that I didn’t get the answer from just Yahoo answers but UK Yahoo Answers, so it very well may be British.

According to IMDB it’s British made, but features American actors in the leads.
