Please share - what cartoon from your childhood best represents you?

(Based on a FaceBook meme that’s floating around right now - I’ve no idea how effective it will be in fighting child abuse, but I’ve been loving seeing which cartoons my friends have picked.)

So, how about it? If you’ve been participating in the FaceBook meme, who did you pick? If this is news to you, what cartoon (TV, Film, Comic book, Magazine, whatever.) from your childhood would you pick that best represents you?

I went with Kliban - this one.

Magic School Bus, mos def.

Duh.

I went with a VF-1 from Robo-Tech. Not sure if a mecha ‘best represents me’ but it was one of my favorite childhood shows.

My friends list is getting filled with cartoon images. Lots of nostalgia there.

The best/worst I’ve seen was a friend has his as an image of Homer Simpson strangling Bart. Someones sending a mixed message.

Figured it had something to do with the meme. Considering I have less than zero intent to participate in it (really, what on earth is the point? It’s even more pointless than signing an online petition!), I haven’t done it online. In here, though, I’ll give it a whirl.

Being a former standup comic, I surprisingly tend to associate more with the “straight men” (Bert and Squidward are two (very similar) examples (and yes, I know Bert isn’t technically a cartoon character).) I also associate with Yakko of the Animaniacs.

I chose Moomintroll.

Daria.

I chose Heidi of the Alps. They showed a Spanish dub of this anime when I was 7, and it was a pretty big deal in El Salvador, as I recall - all the girls my age skipping about like Heidi.
I chose it before I found out it was an anti-child-abuse thing, just 'cause I thought it was cute. Not sure how all the pictures of the Power Puff Girls on Facebook are going to prevent someone from beating their kid half to death with an electrical cord tonight, but that’s just my opinion.

What she said.

Lisa Simpson.

If I was going to change my icon, though, it’d be Nibbler.

I almost didn’t change my profile picture because, well, what’s the point? As others have said, it’s not like it’ll change anything.
But, the nostalgia from seeing what others picked was really warm and fuzzy, so I became a lemming - for one weekend at least.
I chose Gossamer (the big orange monster who used to be named Rudolph, from Water, water every Hare and Hair-raising Hare). I have no idea why he was always my favorite but he was, and still is. I don’t think he represents me, but I can’t think of any cartoon characters that do.

Count Duckula

I would like to just point out, re the Facebook origination of this thing, that the original meme being passed around was simply a childhood nostalgia thing - “Let’s change our profile pictures to cartoons, for fun!” Then some killjoy apparently felt guilty about having fun with cartoons as an adult and tacked on some ridiculous thing about raising child abuse awareness, which is totally stupid and pointless, as has been pointed out already by many people. Just ignore that crap and have fun with childhood nostalgia. :stuck_out_tongue:

Daffy Duck.

I don’t know. Was there an idiot savant or Aspergers type of cartoon character? That’s who I would relate to. Short of that, maybe Wile E. Coyote.

She-Ra.

Checkered Demon

I actually relate more to Huey Freeman, but given the slacktivist cause, I couldn’t help myself. I changed my icon to Grandad Freeman. I wish I could have found one with him wielding a belt, like the clip in the credits of the tv show.

Ralph Phillips.

I’m not doing this meme because I’m too lazy to change my Facebook profile pic, but if I did, I’d probably pick Velma from Scooby Doo.
