Pluribus (New Vince Gilligan show on AppleTV)

If he doesn’t trust the Plurbs to take the ferry, maybe he’ll hike it and then get a car on the other side?

EDIT: Actually, knowing the Plurbs, it’s possible that they’ll build a road across the gap just for Manousos, ready for when he arrives. I don’t think it’s inconceivable that the combined efforts of humanity could build a rough road across the area in a few days of they wanted. Also, knowing Vince Gilligan’s style, he might enjoy an extended montage of millions of people working together to build a road in just a few days.

When they focused on the picture of Manousos and his dad they were climbing into a cesna type plane. He can probably fly.

That would hurt a lot of plants.

Good point!

Time to tell my favorite travelling from North America to Patagonia story. A Chilean friend used to live in Montreal and we were driving along the highway and saw a cyclist with a Quebec flag on his bike. He said, “I know that guy!” We stopped and it was his old neighbor who was biking from Montreal to the tip of South America. He came to dinner and ate like a maniac.

On the subject of the Gap, there was a publicity stunt in the 60s which resulted in two (out of three) Chevy Convairs making it through with a lot of effort.

Wolves. The actual actors were wolf-dog hybrids.

With lots of closeups of machines, no doubt. :cowboy_hat_face:

Nice spot! I don’t recall Carol asking/knowing he’d come, yet he must have picked up some incentive. His drive might just be off to the airfield where his plane is, or if he wants, take his pick of another.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR EPISODE 7 – THE GAP

==============================

Jesus H the jungle just be growing Negan bats out of the ground.

That was quite a harrowing scene. A fun episode even if we don’t learn much. I’m really loving Manousos’ character, I could watch him all day. I can’t wait for Carol and him to finally meet. I’m betting it won’t be until the last episode of the season.

Good to finally see Carol softening, too.

Apparently “needing space” really meant “until the day you break, Carol.” Interesting that she was allowed to decide when they came back.

I’m beginning to not trust these guys.

Well Vegas guy had said until she had a change of heart. Or attitude. Or something similar.

It was funny watching Manousos working on his English. Boy, he trusts the hive even less than Carol does. And yes those Negan trees were pretty treacherous. It was a satisfying watch, and soon the two holdouts will meet. I imagine the This text will be blurred helicopter [/spoiler]will speed things up a bit.

Won’t speed it up much because the episode started on day 12 and finished on day 48.

I predict (and fear) this season will end on the following cliffhanger: “My name is Manousos Oviedo. I am not one of them. I wish to save the world.”

Cut to black.

Yeah, I get the impression after this episode that that is where we’re heading. The good thing is, the show is doing two seasons to start, so it’s not a big deal.

I wouldn’t put it past Vince Gilligan to have that at the end of the penultimate episode, though, then throw something from left field for the season finale.

I did notice Zosia’s shape when I first saw the scene but didn’t really think it was anything significant, but now I think Reddit speculation might be right about something.

Reminded me of:

“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”

Our last time check was 48 days + 1 (unless window golfing and paint day were the same) + (not clear) more or however long it took to respond to the painted message. Maybe all the same day so 48+. It’d be cruel to keep her waiting even till the paint dried.

Yet the side-shot of Zosia had me thinking just that. At around 50 days a fetus is the size of a grape, says google. Yet it leaves room for other changes that might be visible.

Why wouldn’t the Plurbs do in-utero ASAP?

The helicopter is rescue or treatment and some supplies? Manuosos was just saying Carol’s name, not waving to the sky. So whether altruistic or for whatever reason, Manu is getting help. Maybe a ride to New Mexico where the cats are grey.

Having him trek and the montage was terrific. Much better than if he just flew his own plane. You don’t really need to inhale gasoline to siphon it anymore, yet he’s a scout and it also looked cool.

Curious they’re making Manousos so principled. I understand his deep paranoia for the Plurbs. But that he’s so conscientious as to leave behind money when he “borrows” gas from abandoned cars is interesting. He’s creating serious inconveniences for himself, when the whole world’s for the taking. I wonder where that guilt and conviction comes from.

It could just be that he believes so strongly that somehow, the world will return to normal again, so he maintains his old-world scruples. In that he won’t even take a car, or a boat, because he has no way to reimburse the owners.

Too bad he couldn’t just find a decent motorboat, stock it up, and follow the coast line toward Panama.
