That’s an interesting point, I hadn’t thought of that. We know nothing about how any of that is supposed to work, and maybe it’ll never really be explained. I’d like to think that it’s still bound to the laws of physics. We know spooky action at a distance can’t really communicate any meaningful information. We also know that information can’t travel faster than C, otherwise it breaks past light-cones and fucks with the notion of causation, to say the least. I’m sure Gilligan knows all this (but maybe he doesn’t care, for story’s sake).
Then again, if the aliens do have FTL technology, then why broadcast the message at C? And if the Plerbs can communicate with other, off-world hives (assuming and including the original creator of the virus), then why don’t they know who exactly sent it, or how it works?
I’m hoping Carol eventually persuades him that his way of thinking about material possessions is archaic and very moot at this point. If everyone on earth forfeited their belongings, in every conceivable way, the idea of “property” loses all meaning, especially to them. Bully for him for hanging on to the notion, but it’s untenable and pointless for the foreseeable future.

Another random thought I had about the story so far, is I thought Carol’s sleuthing into the milk cartons was actually pretty competent, knowing what we know about her character. She got to the bottom of something in a smart way, but she know’s she’s hitting a wall when it comes to the science of everything. She did what she could to analyze the amber liquid, even going so far as to test its pH (and chlorine content, which I thought was hilarious, cuz she was clearly using a swimming pool kit. Adorable). So, that’s the extent of her scientific capabilities. Still, it got her somewhere, but she know’s it’s not enough.
So, I’m wondering, with Manousos being a HAM enthusiast (at the very least), maybe he has a technical or scientific background? Something to fill in her gaps in this manner? No Walter White, but at least somebody who has just enough scientific understanding to go further in finding a way to reverse everything.
If the Plurbs communicate via EM waves, does he know enough about faraday cages? Would that work to cut a Plerb off from the hive? Could it be permanent(?)…
Faraday cage is definitely one of the first things I’d have thought of trying if I were Carol

How did the Others know Carol was still plotting against them? 7 billion people can’t be wrong or something like that?
Lots confirmed today, and questions answered.
The mango ice cream story was interesting. We know Zosia came from Morocco, not Poland. She was relating the memory of another other, but Carol doesn’t know that. Are the Others manipulating Carol into making false assumptions without technically lying?
We know that she was in Morocco.
However Zosia is the Polish version of Sophia and the actress in question is Polish-American and was born in Poland. There probably is no deception on this little bit 
I’m glad that Carol hasn’t totally given up. She was lonely enough to consider suicide, so she needed to reach out to maintain sanity, but she still recognizes the need to fix the world.
Clear to me that both sides were trying to manipulate the other. Great acting all around.
SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 8 – CHARM OFFENSIVE

The episode is titled “Charm Offensive”, so they gotta be playing her, big time, right?
Also, got some confirmation on some of the more sci-fi elements and learned some things:
–They do communicate via EM waves.
– They’re still not sure how it works, exactly. But Zosia said that humans have some latent ability to transmit and receive signals.
–They’re not in contact with the hive-of-origin (an actual exoplanet Kepler-22b, in the Cygnus Constellation / twice the radius of earth and most likely a water-world / ~640 LYs away). They have no real information about them, and don’t expect to get any.
–They’re planning on building a massive radio telescope (or maybe an array?) to transmit the “gift” back out into space. And Carol wrote on her whiteboard that they plan to use all the power on earth to do that.
–Carol is hot for teacher.
Vince loves his double meaning episode titles. Carol thinks she’s charming them to get info, but really it’s the other way around.

Oddly she did not include the overnight addition of Manuosos to make 13. He’d be interested in that and could perhaps theorize the cause.
Also, one antenna will have some use in “paying the gift forward”. Yet any potential receivers will only get a brief signal peaking every 24 hours. Better to loop around the equator with dishes, or as I once suggested, build a massive array in orbit around the Sun and that will be a searchlight.
Looks like someone is tending to the football field. Dunno how someone can work the scoreboard so quickly, yet the “You suck, Carol” was a cute choice.
Dunno how they’ll translate this knowledge, yet by next episode I’d like to see Manuosos harmlessly setting up his HAM “hobby” kit somewhere. Dunno what they can do with the handheld HAMs except try and jam Zosia.
Tha answer to the train question (food distribution) seemed…incomplete?
Seems like it was her way of saying “It’s how we evenly distribute dead bodies around to provide HSP”. Not a lie, also not getting into the nitty-gritty of dead bodies.
I’m guessing Carol, now that she’s caught the feels for Zosia, will have a dilemma about whether or not help Manousos save the world, after all.
