The only thought I have is that I am SO looking forward to seeing all of you again, and I hope to meet NEW friends too. I can’t make the June 22nd movie, but I WILL be there on the 29th. With or without rjk…although if he is REALLY a good friend he won’t make me drive all that way alone. [sub]We all know how much I LOVE to drive alone…NOT…to say nothing of my lack of directional skills. Not that I am trying to GUILT Bob into coming.
Well, maybe I AM, but he loves me so I know he will forgive me. I hope.

Hi.
Just wanted to say that KKBattousai and I will be there for the 29th gathering.
Looking forward to it!
Rats…I just got an invitation to some good friend’s 25th wedding anniversary party on the 29th. At 4PM. So although I can meet you all early to browse and lunch and so forth, I will need to leave before the movie. I figure I can be LATE to the anniversary party, but I can’t skip it altogether. So…depending on how long it takes me to get there, I should leave by 3PM…
Are we still on, BTW? And can we meet at 10AM instead of 11AM?
Scotti, so sorry you have to leave early! Do you want to come down on the 22nd (also, and for the movie)?
In any case, I’ll try and get there at 10:30 on the 29th. See you then!
Just a “the date is coming up” bump. Don’t mind me.
Hi guys… So, who’s coming? Where are we meeting? Is 10:30 still good, and would anyone like to have my cellphone number in case you can’t make it by 10:30 and we are going to need to find you later?
The answers to these and other burning questions is…
I’m a maybe. I’m hoping to be there but my grandparents extended their visit so I don’t know yet what my family obligations are on Saturday.
My wife and I are planning to attend, starting at 10:30 along with anybody who wants to walk around and visit the various galleries (highly recommended if you’ve never done it). We should probably nail down a place to meet; it won’t be that hard, considering that downtown Langley is about the size of a McDonald’s tray. No doubt we can use similar methodology to collect those who plan to show up later.
Scotti, your cell number would definitely come in handy. You can pull my email off my website (see the “about” page).
Yes. we’ll be there. We’ll plan on catching the 10 am ferry from Mukilteo. We could try meeting at the front of the ferry as soon as it starts moving, for those catching that ferry who are a little unsure about navigating from the ferry to Langly (Scotti).
The ferry schedule can be found here:
http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm?route=muk-cl
Because of meetings and the grant we finished today, I wasn’t able to contact the glass blower about a studio visit, but perhaps I can do that tomorrow. We might luck out.
This should be fun!
Would it be easier if we e-mailed our cell-numbers and meeting times and stuff? Because if so I volunteer to be the organizer. E-mail link’s below. I’ll reply to everyone late Friday night with a list of names and numbers, and include my own cell number.
KKBattousai and I will also try to be there by 10:30am. Maybe we could meet with you folks, Cervaise and herownself? It’ll be our first time on the ferry.
We could then pick a place to meet up with everyone else.
I’ll be coming down Whidbye Island instead of taking the ferry. Not to worry, herownself…THIS time we are pretty close to my home stomping grounds, so I am on much better terms geographically speaking.
I hope Danalan will check in again with a better meeting place, but if not I will be at the Dog House Tavern at 10:30AM on Saturday. If it isn’t open, I will be lurking around the front door.
Let’s meet at the Backdoor Restaurant – it’s basically the back room of the Dog House. You can swing thru the tavern and get a beer, or come in thru the side door (follow the short porch on the left of the building).
I’ll make sure they know that ‘x’ number of people are expected, if I can find out what ‘x’ is beforehand. (Everybody raise their hands, please).
Remember that they don’t take credit cards, and someone bring a calculator – they’ll have one check with 18% already added, for a gratuity, if we have a party of six or more.
If, heaven forfend, they aren’t open, just meet in front by the benches and the wooden dog.
Here’s the virtual town layout (again): www.traxmaps.com/swi/langley.htm
I really look forward to seeing you all there!
The Dog House is a great place to meet, no worries Scotti. Anyone you ask will know where it is, and you won’t have to ask because you’ll have no trouble finding it. It is also nice that we’re meeting early-ish, because then we won’t have trouble parking.
KKBattousai and AudreyK, we’ll meet you at the front of the ferry if we don’t see you before then. The ferry is easy to find, but if you’re anxious we could meet at our house and go on from there.
I think we’ll be okay with meeting you at the ferry. I’m fairly confident in my navigating skills. We’ll try to leave early so we have time to get lost.
:knocks wood:
This is gonna be fun.
I assume, since this is the PNW and all, we are going to do this even if it rains heavily? As far as I am concerned, what’s a little rain? But I would hate to drive all the way down there and find that everyone else feels differently.
[sub]picture a dejected Scotti, a SAD Scotti, a lonely Scotti…sitting in front of the Dog House Tavern looking forlorn[/sub]
Funny, I just figured that rain meant that, “Oh well, guess we have to stay here in the tavern and drink some more…”

[Scottispeaksseverely to KK] We’re DRIVING, darling boy![/Scottispeaksseverely]

Just a bump to get this on the first page again, after all this event will be TOMORROW.
So far, I haven’t been able to find a phone number for the glass studio - so I couldn’t ask them to open the studio for us. I really hope they haven’t gone under, they did great work.
We’re planning on coming, rain or shine. Rain will just mean more time sitting in the Dog house, or the tea shop, or the amazing bakery… The town really isn’t very big so unless there’s a downpour we shouldn’t get too wet even if we walk around.
We’ll see y’all tomorrow.
Hi,
I won’t be there at 10. But I will be there, and hopefully before Scotticher leaves (not just because I do want to see her again, but also for the practical reason I can recognize her and will be able to identify the rest of you if you’re with her somewhere.)
Worse comes to worse, I’ll meet you in the DogHouse at around 4.
I just sent you my cell phone number, hon…call us when you get there. I am looking forward to seeing you again, too.
