I’m still planning on it, but I won’t be able to attend unless I can find a ride. I’m just not comfortable with taking the bus that far (and I don’t have the money for it anyway). So if anyone is coming from south of Tacoma or the Parkland area . . . might you have room for one more?

Terrible way to bump but I just realized that I have a class at 5 p.m. that afternoon. If you guys are going late, I can try to make it.
I was going to suggest some awards:

I’m still in, barring travel problems. I found what seems to be Niggle’s phone number, so I’ll be nagging him, and anybody else who might offer me a ride.
Spouse and I will be there with bells on! Looking forward to it!!!
Honey, I am sure that something can be worked out. As soon as it gets a little closer, and people start posting here in DROVES because EVERYONE is still coming, there is sure to be someone who can give you a ride.
This weekend, if we don’t start hearing from people who said they would be attending, I will email the people who originally said they’d be coming.

Cervaise and I are in. We saw Lissener last night, and it looks like he’ll be there too. We’d be happy to help with directions and/or rides. We’re coming from near Northgate.
I’m not sure if we’re up for the orgy afterwards, though. That will depend on what kind of week it’s been. (Was I not supposed to mention the orgy in front of Scotti? I can’t remember.)
Hmmm… I could have sworn I posted this already because I remember offering SINsApple a ride. Maybe the mods deleted my post so more people would attend. 
At any rate I will be in attendance. I have a house full of in-laws and I could disappear for days without being missed. I’m looking forward to seeing some of you again, and to meeting some new folks. As I hinted above I’ll be glad to drive from South King County (I’m in Kent) and pick people up along the way. I’ll even drop down to Parkland for SINsApple if that’s the only way you can get there. Or we could arrange to meet at a Park N’ Ride on I-5 near Kent – that way at least you don’t have to drive in Seattle. As an added bonus I know the way there and I’m a teetotaler so I’ll even be able to find my way home!! The only limitation is that the biggest car I’ve got only holds four people. Mrs. Pluto will not be in attendance. (“That stupid “Straight Dope” thingie? Not on your life!”)

Well, I’m running late this week, but here are the directions finally:
Buca di Beppo in Seattle

Directions from I-5 north or south:
[ul][li]Exit at Mercer. You can only go one way (west), so go that way.[/li][li]Get into one of the two right lanes. These lanes curve right onto Fairview, which is where you want to go. (Landmark: Directly in front of you, before you turn the curve, you’ll see the Lincoln Towing lot, with the big pink Toe Truck.)[/li][li]Follow the curve onto Fairview, preferably into the middle lane. You’ll end up heading north.[/li][li]If you’re not already there, get into the middle lane. This lane curves left onto Valley. (Landmark: Directly in front of you, you’ll see a Burger King.)[/li][li]Follow the curve onto Valley. You’ll end up heading west. (Landmark: To your right will be Lake Union.)[/li][li]Make sure you’re in the middle lane, and then go forward. You’ll pass the first light, which is Westlake Ave. (Landmark: To your right on Westlake, you can see Jillian’s, a pool hall and pub.) The right lane is an exit-only lane here, so it goes away. The middle lane that you’re in becomes the right lane.[/li][li]At the second light, 9th Street, you will see Buca di Beppo on the northwest corner. 9th Street is a one way street, going the wrong way, of course.[/li]
So: At 9th Street, go directly forward onto Roy, the small street right next to Beppo’s.
Important: Do NOT curve forward and left under the overpass, which will take you onto Broad Street and way out of the way.
[li]There’s construction on Roy, so you can’t go very far forward. Take a right onto 8th Ave. N, which borders Beppo’s in the back. (At least, so the Beppo’s staff tells me.) This street should be marked with signs indicating Buca di Beppo parking. Park there.[/li]
If you need to go around the block, go forward to Aloha, turn right, then turn right again onto 9th Ave. N.

If you get lost, call Buca di Beppo at the number listed above.
Directions from Hwy 99/Aurora are more complicated. If you need them, please let me know.

I live just outside of Spokane and have wondering if anyone was gong to have a Fest out in this neck of the woods.
Though I’m socially inept and more of a wallflower than anything, I’d love to attend. Cursed fates, I am unable to due to prior commitments this time around.
