Poll: Bush and Gore if the election was held tomorrow

Earth in The Balance, including some feedback.

At a glance, it looks like your opinion on the book is directly related to your opinion on Gore (and environmentalism) in general.

If the only two choices were Bush or Gore, I’d have to vote Bush. If there were other choices, I’d have to evaluate them separately (it would have to be someone like Nader to get me to vote FOR Gore).

too bad gore did not get to inherit the mess clinton left for president bush
i’d bet the president is sorry he won
if i thought brown had a chance…

oh yeah the op asked…
gore would win because the people could not get beyond thier 401k balance
imo,
steve

As I did before and will do again, Bush.

I wouldn’t vote for Gore if someone ripped off my arm, set me on fire and then used the severed limb to beat out the flames in an effort to force me to.

tlw,
come on now, give it to us straight, don’t hold back

me too!!!

I didn’t vote for Bush in 2000, and would not do so if another election were held today.

As for Gore, if I did vote for him I’d feel a need to wash my hands afterwards. I’d probably go Libertarian.

Honestly, if the Democrats want to win they should tell Gore to just stick to the college lecture circuit. The guy couldn’t even beat Dukakis or Mondale, for Og’s sake!

Wouldn’t the Dems win big if they changed their stance on guns?
They’re shunning a large population of people who are regular voters. I think the people who like gun control would still stick with Democrats because of other issues.

Popularity ratings don’t necessarily mean very much. Remember, Gorge Bush Sr had an unheard-of 90% approval rating after the Gulf War, and he still lost re-election in 1992.

What he (or she) said.

Then: Nader (Bush was going to sweep Texas no matter who I voted for, so I picked one visible issue–the War On Some Drugs–and voted on the higest-profile candidate that reflected my position.)

Now: Bush.

I wouldn’t vote.

I would vote for Bush(or rather against Gore) then go home and get drunk while lamenting the inability of this country to produce an acceptable choice for president.

Gore voters. Vote early and vote often

Bush was my lesser-of-two-evils vote last time (or three or four evils), and I wouldn’t change it now. Bush has done a few things I don’t like but I’ve agreed with him more than I have disagreed.

Bush, just like the last time.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I think he’s doing a wonderful job.

True, but the election wasn’t right after the Gulf War.

Whoops, it wasn’t about predicting the outcome of a mythical hypothetical election.

Oh well. I would vote for the Libertarian or Green Party candidate. I’ve never voted for a Republican, and I wouldn’t start with Bush. And one time for Gore was enough.

Exit polls are in!

Bush is in the lead with 13 votes, followed closely by Gore with 11, and Browne bringing up the rear with a respectable 4.

Additionally, 14 people replied that they will vote for anyone but Bush/Gore, three said that they would not vote for Bush/Gore even if physically threatened, one individual abstained, and one choose to end their life rather than vote. It was a shocking turn of events that has left Americans reeling with confusion. Clearly the Presidency is not what it used to be.

This one looks like another nail biter. The polls are still open though.

P.S. All kidding aside I am relieved that Gore is doing as well as he is. I expected much worse. One thing I don’t know what to make of is the number of people, myself included, that think that Gore or Bush being (re)elected would be a catastrophe. Is it natural or necessary that the parties are this divisive?

Gore, without a doubt
