Poll: Do you like to sneeze?

Obligatory Tom Lehrer lyric.

When you feel a need to sneeze, sure, it feels good to sneeze.

But for me, it’s no different from when you need to take a piss or a shit, it feels good to take a piss or a shit.

But I’d be perfectly happy if it was possible to live a normal life without the necessity of doing any of the above. So I voted No.

My mom always used to tell my dad, “you don’t have to vocalize when you sneeze.” I was never entirely sure whether he was sneezing or coughing.

No. My sneezes are violent and painful. I’ve pulled muscles sneezing.

It doesn’t happen very often but I can get into sneezing fits that are counted in the dozens.

I am neutral, and do not have a sneeze number. I can, however, trigger a sneeze at almost any time by scratching my temple. So if one is halfway there I can usually get it to “finish”. :stuck_out_tongue:

I had no idea that *anyone *actually enjoyed sneezing :dubious:

I didn’t realize people liked to vocalize when they sneeze. But I do enjoy a good sneeze. They are noisy enough without adding anything to them, though.

I usually hold them in, which kind of hurts.

I don’t like to, but I am grateful that I can and make the urge go away.

A good, loud, juicy sneeze is a wonderful thing. It’s fun to see people in the vicinity cringe and turn away.

Loud coughing, belching, farting, spitting and other bodily emissions are also to be encouraged. You don’t want to repress them, as eventually they could all spurt out your nose in one ghastly effusion.

Be sure to wear brown pants though.

It’s hard to answer. I’ve heard people talk about how great it feels when you really have to pee badly, and finally get to go. And it is pleasurable. But, for most people, they’d rather never get to that point in the first place.

I think sneezing works the same way for most people, including the OP. After the build up, it feels good to let it go, even more than once. But is that really saying you “like to sneeze”? I would reserve that for people who actually deliberately do things to make themselves need to sneeze, like tickling their nose or inhaling irritants.

And, yes, they exist. Like many things, it is a fetish. They even call it a mini orgasm, like 1/10 the intensity. (I don’t have it, but I’m fascinated by fetishes.)

Note, “this GS” is an autocorrcted typo on my phone for “things.” Examples include the photic sneeze reflex, breathing irritants deliberately, and just tickling.

I’d have edited, but the SDMB had server errors for over five minutes.

Other: it happens, and trying to stifle it is often worse then just letting it go.

Yes. It’s stimulating, like a minor orgasm. I sometimes poke my nose so that the nose hairs tickle, resulting in a sneeze. My daughter hates this behavior, claiming it’s loud enough to hurt her ears.

I don’t ever mind sneezing but I like it when I’m nauseated and I sneeze. For some reason it makes my nausea go away. I looked it up once and I think it has something to do with the vagus nerve.

In 3’s, 5’s or 7’s. Not a fan, after 3 sneezes I’m a bit honked off and go hellbent on the final blasts which tends to make the hanging pots and pans go ding.
