Hmmm… Hard to decide. SMG and Seth Green are probably the best bets. I think Seth is the better actor, but he seems to take the Michael Caine approach to movies (Rat Race, Idle Hands).
I think most in that poll are missing the boat. Eliza Dushku is in many movies coming out soon. Mark my words, one of them will be a breakout role for her and her career will outshine all the others.
On the other hand, Alyson Hannigan will probably be restricted to supporting-player roles her whole life; she’s not the bombshell beauty type who can become another Julia Roberts or Meg Ryan. So her career will thrive, just at a different level from your Sarahs or Elizas or Charismas.
Sarah won’t live up to her potential, for the simple reason that she picks terrible, terrible film projects. Has she even made a movie that didn’t suck?
I think her acting skills are underrated; she’s done Emmy-level work in many episodes of the show. But if she keeps picking sucky movies to display them in, her career’s headed straight to Nowheresville.
Why are we doing the IMDB poll here?
I can give you one example, Fiver – Cruel Intentions. Well-acted, good script, and SMG was just frickin’ EVIL. It was a huge departure from her Buffy character.
As for who’s going to enjoy the most success long-term… I’m guessing SMG. She’ll eventually start picking better roles and I think we’ll be seeing her long after BtVS is off the air. I would, however, like to see Eliza Dushku in more roles (and less clothing… hubba hubba).
Seth Green. That guy’s a cockroach - he’ll never die. Not that I would want him to . . . he’s strangely compelling as Scott Evil with that black nailpolish. Mmmmmm . . .
Well, I wish it would be James Marsters. I think SMG, Seth Green, and Michelle Trachtenburg will all do well. Gellar and Green have been previously explained. I add Trachtenburg because I think she shows some range, and she has been working steadily for a few years. I’m sure what her face looks like at 21 will be a better indicator of her leading lady prospects, but I think she’ll continue to be prominent in movies for a long time.
I’ve with Fiver - it’s Eliza Dushku, no contest. SMG risks being categorized for starring in crappy teen flicks, and while DB may have a huge fan base from the show, his movie career isn’t exactly blossoming. All the while Eliza is doing some kick-ass movies and maintaining her Buffy fan base… she’s definitely going places.
Seth Green and Alyson Hannigan are my top bets (in that order. While Alyson’s not necessarily the “bombshell” leading-lady-type (though have you SEEN some of the recent photo spreads she done for mags?!), I believe that works to her advantage making her a more versatile actress. Sarah is often typecast and struggles to find successful movie roles.
Aly, Seth and Sarah have all been around the industry for a long time and Seth probably has the most projects under his belt though because of her soap opera role and that “Swans Crossing” series, Sarah may have clocked the most (small) screen time.
Of course, keep in mind that along with everything else, Seth does cartoon voice-over work! (Family Guy) He has the longest list of screen (both big and small screen) credits, and despite her young debute, Seth and Aly still have 3 years jump on Sarah.
Can anyone believe Seth appeared on “Facts of Life” at just age 5?!
No, but I want too! What mags/issues, exactly, am I looking for?
Personally, I agree with Seth and Alyson as being my best bets, though Eliza will be making a bunch of movies based on her looks alone, not that she’s a bad actress or anything. All three of them have, IMHO, a certain look or style that makes them unique, while SMG may be having trouble because, when you get right down to it, she’s just another young blonde starlet and we have a lot of 'em (personally, I’d bet that Kirsten Dunst and SMG have gone up against each other for a role or two).
SMG has a chance at a career. Seth Green, probably does not. I don’t know how someone can say he is the better actor. MOST of his movie rolls are god-awful. Which is a real shame because I loved him on BtVS.
Alyson Hannigan is probably the most talented of the lot. I think that in the long run, she’ll fair the best.

This here would be a fine collection.
