You call the Library’s Connect() function, and it returns a “success” code.

  • You assume that you are connected successfully, because you got a success return code.
  • You assume that the success return code means nothing, and call the library’s IsConnected() function to figure out the state of the connection.
  • You would hope that a success code from Connect() means that it is connected, but you have dealt with so many idiots for so long, that you call IsConnected() just to make sure.

There are some long running TV shows with a lot of episodes. Saturday Night Live is closing in on 1000, and The Simpsons nearing 800, and Unsolved Mysteries is over 600, for a few examples. And those aren’t even the shows with the highest episode counts!

Alas, life is short, and no matter how much longer you’re likely to live, there’s only so much time you’re willing to devote to TV. People of the same age are likely to have different limits too.
