I figure the following three professions are portrayed the most on TV and in movies. It’s rare that any are written realistically. Which profession is the least realistic on screen?
Forget death, here’s the Existence Poll! [don’t get too hung up on spiritual semantics of terms used below]
0 - I wish I never existed in the first place.
1 - While overall I haven’t minded existing in this lifetime all things considered, I still welcome oblivion/nonexistence when my physical form here expires.
2 - I want an existence of eternal torment in a hell real or self-inflicted.
3 - I want to keep re-incarnating here or elsewhere endlessly for an infinite amount of time.
4 - Eternal separate-self existence on a plane which is no better or worse than this one.
5 - An eternal existence in a blissful place or state where I nonetheless remain a separate entity.
6 - Full nondual timeless merging with Nirvana/Atman/God, losing my individual identity in the process.
7 - NOTA (please feel free to disclose in the Discussion thread)
In a long thread, when someone doesn’t bother to read the whole thread, and then posts a response identical to something you said earlier, does it aggravate you?
You are the wealthiest citizen of your nation. In fact, you are so rich that your wealth is as large as one-half of your nation’s GDP. You’re richer by far than any other millionaire or billionaire in the country. You have acquired all this wealth through legal and honest means.
There is a lot of pressure put on you by society and the media to make of donations out of pocket to fund the nation’s healthcare system, pension system, schools, military, infrastructure, etc. Many such things suffer from being under-funded despite the fact that you’re already paying all the taxes required of you. There is some corruption in government, but not more so than any other typical democracy. The government promises that if you donate, they will not cut taxes as a way of getting a freebie at your expense. (Assume, for some reason, that the government simply raising taxes on the rich isn’t an option.)
I would donate a large amount of my wealth to fund these government budget items.
I would donate a small amount of my wealth.
I’m not donating anything - I already pay all my taxes, and that’s all that’s obligated of me.

A movie studio decides not to create their own soundtrack for their movie, but instead purchases the rights for music from other sources and splices them together as appropriate to fit the footage and scenes- so for instance, a bit of Narnia here, a bit of Ace Combat there, some Home Alone here, some Jurassic Park there, etc. How do you feel?
