Should “Polls Only No Discussion” even acknowledge the existence of a Discussion thread devoted to “cheating” on the conceptually pure conceit of “You must choose among the options given, there is no wiggle room here, skip us if you must but here is where you Commit!”

  • Aw come on! It’s just a bit of fun!
  • No! Lay down your choice.and be quick about it! The Big Book in the sky awaits your answer. (This particular Poll is Single Choice - stake your claim Now!)
  • Yes! There are seldom questions that can be definitively answered -always there are gradations, and the Discussion thread is our Safe Space.
  • I never go there, and never will. I am embarrassed for those folks who feel the need to “explain themselves”.
  • I started that thread, or wish I had. It is a necessary safety valve, because this thing could boil over any minute.
  • Bit of fun, you say? Jesus wept!
  • This poll is a “Show Who Voted”; you have been warned.

Is the purpose of the discussion thread to wiggle out of picking a single answer?

  • Of course! And that’s it’s only purpose
  • Well, it does that, but it has other purposes, too
  • That’s a minor use of the discussion thread
  • Huh? People use the discussion thread for that?
  • Sadly, the discussion thread has led posters away from the purity of only using polls for discussion.
  • Thankfully, the discussion thread has moved tedious discussion out of this thread
