Another Prime Day Week has been survived. Well, technically there is tomorrow but I am forbidden by the Geneva Convention from working more than 6 days in a row so on that. I’m going to Kennywood after sleeping in terribly.
8 more hours of work, then I get a day off.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and dark (TWPTB say partly cloudy) with a predicted high of 91 with a chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse, as usual. The plan of the day is quality cee-mint pond time and to sup upon burgers ‘n chips. JDD and Partner are comin’ over to hang out with us. Always fun when we get together. Silliness and hijinks always ensue.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day!
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Laundromat after work. Then, beer!
Good morning! I didn’t have an uninterrupted night (stoopit bladder) but I did get close to 8 hours, huzzah huzzah!! When I woke just before 4, I thought I heard rain, and by the wet pavement, I see I was right. Yay for rain!! Over the next 10 days, the forecast is showing anywhere from 50% to 100% chances each day or night, with most promised between now and Tuesday. We need it badly!
**FCD **has to work today and tomorrow - big surprise - so I’ll find some chores to fill my time. I really need to clean my desk - maybe I’ll tackle that disaster. Plus, of course, the usual laundry.
When I came home yesterday, my daughter was doing a small design project for her dad. She was asking me a few things as she did it - that girl should have studied engineering! Her questions showed a real understanding of the issue and a clear path towards solving it. I think she’ll do well, and she may well be qualified to take over my job in a year! I was surprised and impressed.
Enough bragging - onward into the day! Happy Saturday!
Up, and sitting near the open window with Ursala Kitteh. There is a slow moving storm coming through this weekend, bringing periods of much needed rain. Already the grass is brighter. My plans for today include a riding lesson, then sloth. I’ve been sidelined by a sinus infection the last 2 weeks and have had no saddle time.
Well, it’s a little cramped but I slept well in my spare bedroom, so that’s good. No rain yet, but sure looks like we’ll get some. I’ll probably get out and volunteer for a couple hours helping out with the soccer registration and uniform distribution. Then bathroom and kitchen cleanout. Still want to mow the yard tomorrow, but looking at the forecast it’ll have to be in the morning as tunder-boomers are coming in the afternoon. We’ll see.
Happy Saturday!
I got a good night’s sleep last night until I got woken by Ripple at 7:30.
We’re supposed to have rain and cooler temps for the next week, so time to turn the AC off and open the windows.
Today we have to go pick up the groceries because I messed up the order yesterday. I’ve been messing up a lot of things lately. I need more sleep.
We did find out that the gas station by the grocery store has free air. The low tire light had come on in the truck so we filled the tires while we were out.
Time to make some breakfast and start getting ready for the day.
Mooooom, do you think maybe your daughter got her talent through a combination of genetics and osmosis?
Up, breakfasted, caffeinating, yada yada. The dogs have had a nice long walk on the greenway across the street, there are towels in the wash and the puppy crate has been sanitized. If the rain holds off, I may take them to the dog park this afternoon.
**Red **- something like that. I’ve told the story of when she was about 2 and she asked how a toilet worked. So I took the cover off the tank and explained the mechanism to her. When her dad came home that night, she explained it to him. The engineering is strong in this one!
Lovely, steady rain falling - I’m not even upset that I can’t hang the laundry out today… or tomorrow…
Second load of laundry is in the machine. Windows are open because it’s under 70° outside. Good day, so far…
Got up too late. Went to bed too late last night (my usual dawdling, plus got into a spat with my roommate. Not a good thing to happen before bed. )
Thinking of heading to my dad’s house for the weekend.
Made up a tote of t-shirts to put in storage and got a tote out to put into rotation. Yes — we have waaaaay too many t-shirts.
Well, so much for cee-mint pond time. Lots of rain and tboomers around. JDD and Partner are not comin’ over, boo. Can’t blame 'em however as 'tis quite nasty out. I just put a peach cobbler in the oven. I made it cause, well, peach cobbler! Plus we have good 'niller ice cream.
Well, my daughter is truly on her way to becoming an engineer. She was working behind me and suddenly I heard “Delete that sumbitch!”
I’m so proud!!!
Rained like hell last night in LR & North Little Rock. 32,000 folks without power. The high is forecast to be 95[sup]o[/sup], G-d help them.
Lovely morning ride on Ariel. I am now watching North by Northwest and cleaning the bathroom. Rah.
The rain continues at a steady rate. The drain we had put in our back yard is directing water into the woods as it’s supposed to. My last load of laundry is in the dryer.
We went to Bert’s for a late lunch/early supper. I won’t be preparing an evening meal today. And tomorrow we’re going to look at and possibly buy a desk for our daughter’s work station. The randomly named “family room” is about to become The Office. Anybody want an unneeded love seat?
We consumed a late N.O.L./early sup. Chillage ensues.
Unwanted Love Sofa sounds like the title of a country song.
Is that used in an arranged marriage, where the various parents or matchmaker force the unwilling couple to sit together? Does it have restraints? :dubious:
