Just a minor gripe, but I’ve noticed, or maybe I should say realized, that whenever I visit the SDMB, I get pop-up ads behind my active browser window that look like this.
The most that will show up are 4. It’s usually Netflix or American Express.
I have a Mac running Leopard.
Block Pop-up Windows is selected.
I’m a paying card-carrying member of the board (so there!).
And I can’t figure out why this is happening. This is the only site where I get accompanying pop-ups.
Although the board does carry pop-up ads, they should not be that many (according to my experience). If you are getting that many and that’s with a pop-up blocker, you might have some malware (yes, I know you said Mac). More so if you are a paying member, then you should not get any.
I am on Chrome (on Vista) and I do get the little notification I get when a pop up is blocked (no ad blocking software, just the setting in Chrome), but they are few and far between.
