FWPD spokesperson Michael Joyner said it appeared that two men, both armed, forced their way into the upstairs apartment. He said shots were fired by at least one of those men. However, Joyner said no one in the apartment was harmed.
Joyner said the home invader was shot when one of three adults in the apartment returned fire striking one of the two men, who was found by offices suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
“The individual shot that’s in critical condition is one of two suspects who attempted a home invasion,” Joyner said.
Two armed men break into apartment with three people inside and only the criminals are shot. Multiple times.

In other news, SUV owner shoots suspected burglar
When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man on the floor of the hotel lobby with whay appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the chest, Hoskins said. The man was identified as the suspected burglar.
Angleton Police Chief David Ashburn said the 29-year-old owner of a black Chevy Tahoe and his wife heard noises outside and saw the 31-year-old breaking into the SUV. The owner went outside and shot the suspected burglar, Ashburn said.
In TX, it’s legal to defend property with deadly force under certain circumstances.
Somehow, I missed this one when it happened.

finds man in his garage
Officers were called around 1:30 a.m. on a report of a homeowner holding a man at gunpoint in his garage. The homeowner told officers he’d left the garage door open for approximately 15 minutes, then found a man he didn’t know inside. Wilson was wearing gloves and was carrying a flashlight. When asked by the homeowner what he was doing there, Wilson replied he was “looking for a phone to use,” the affidavit said.
District Attorney Dan Rubinstein told a judge Wilson is “lucky” he wasn’t shot, which may have been justifiable under Colorado’s Make My Day Law under the circumstances.
DGU with no shots fired.
Anti-crime tip:
Criminals will sometimes duck into your open garage an unlock the side/back door, with intentions to come back later when you’re not home. Easier to take their time getting into the house unobserved from an attached garage.
If confronted “I was looking for my dog” is common.

In other news, Toledo man with concealed carry permit shoots armed robbery suspect
According to the report, Reid noticed something suspicious as he pulled up to his home. He told police a vehicle drove down his street and slowed down.
According to the report, Reid put his gun in his pocket and got out of his car.
However, the report says the suspect then ran up to the victim in the yard, pulled out a handgun and yelled, “Don’t move!”
Reid shot the man and called 9-1-1.
"We have no reason to believe that he did not fire in self-defense, so no charges have been filed as of yet,” says Heffernan.
The suspect fled before police arrived.
Police say he later checked into the emergency room. Police identify him as Antonio Hadley.
1 shot to the abdomen and the suspect was able to flee, and later check himself into the hospital. Presumably if he wanted the suspect could have continued engaging - another example where 1 shot is insufficient to incapacitate.

“The victim stated the suspect entered the store, gathered several items for sale, including a metal baton, and approached the counter. The suspect threatened the victim with the baton and ordered him onto the ground. The victim defended himself by pointing a firearm at the suspect and the suspect fled the scene,” David Moore with the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

In other news, Naked Oregon Burglar Crawls Into Bed With Couple, Discovers Man Has Gun
An incident report says Defeudis broke into the home about 3:40 a.m. (6:40 a.m. ET) Thursday and began gathering items of value.
He then removed all of his clothes and climbed into bed with the unidentified man and woman who live there — and for some reason kissed the man, it says.
The man woke up to find the burglar sitting on top of him, holding a knife, police said. When the man pulled a gun, the burglar hurriedly put on his pants and fled — chased by the now fully awake man, who fired three shots but missed, according to the report.
This is more strange than anything else and it seems like drugs were involved.
Homeowner successfully fends off intruder with her Constitutionally-guaranteed firearm. A positive “defensive gun use”, one less “bad guy”, right?
So what if it was actually her own daughter she killed? That wasn’t the gun ’s fault, now was it? :rolleyes:

The article reports a home invasion where one of the intruders was killed. No daughters were reported hit by the mother’s shots. For an anti, it obviously would be better if mom had killed one of her daughters because then you could dance in the blood and crow about it being proof of the dangers of owning a gun. Since it didn’t happen that way, we have a retarded-ass attempt to derail into a fantasy of “what if it had.”

In any event, I wouldn’t consider mistakenly shooting and killing your daughter a positive event - it’s a tragedy and a rules reminder. Apparently Elvis thinks this is positive. That is consistent with my understanding of his thought process.
You see, folks. If you accidentally kill your daughter, that’s just a good, “rules reminder.” Oopsie daisy, I guess she won’t be doing that again.

In other news, Police arrest accused burglar who was chased by victim, tackled by good samaritan
he suspect had broken a window and was gaining entry when the victim fired a gun at the suspect.
Enroute to the call, officers learned that the victim was now chasing the suspect on foot. When the first officer arrived on scene, the victim had the suspect detained in the 2200 block of 26th Street. When the suspect saw the officer, he ran and the officer pursued on foot. The suspect was tackled by a quick thinking citizen who held on until officers arrived. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Facility and booked in.
I would recommend against chasing a suspect, but in this case it worked out. Two people made sure the burglar was having a bad day. DGU, no one killed.
