I can go only by what is quoted in the linked article. I will ask again: Do you have information that is not presented in the linked article? Out with it, if you do. Of all the ways I might spend the last day of 2015, humoring you while you pretend at “I know something you don’t know!” Isn’t on the list. Either you know something more or you don’t.

This has to be a joke, right? I mean the title of the news article is “Cops: Mom shot, killed daughter mistaken for intruder”
OK. I can’t wait to hear your response.
Campbell omitted that fact because he was asleep when his wife shot Doby, mistaking her for an intruder , police said on Wednesday. He didn’t realize what happened until his wife — a 911 dispatcher with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office – explained it to him, according to authorities.
I’m sure it was just an oversight, on your part.

Apparently there is some confusion. I am talking about the article linked by Chicken Legs in post 331and that is all I have been discussing. One intruder killed, no family hurt. That is the only incident I have been discussing. If there was another incident where a family member was shot by mistake, then that is tragic. That tragedy does not change that the woman in the article I have been focusing on successfully defended her family with a gun.

Police say a Domino’s delivery driver was delivering pizzas near Timothys Landing off 103rd street when he was approached by two armed man, demanding money.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the deliveryman grabbed his own gun and shot one of the suspects.
…
Jefferson says if the suspect who was shot, happens to die from his injuries, the second suspect could be charged with murder, even if he wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger.
According to police, the suspect who was shot by the deliveryman is in serious condition, there’s no word on if the second suspect was captured, or if he ran off.
Action News Jax did reach out to Domino’s to see what their policy is on delivery drivers carrying guns, we’re waiting for a response.
I believe Dominoes has a no firearms policy for their drivers. Wonder if he’ll be fired over this.

Yes but you must admit that we do have a plethora of idiots working for the press; more than any other place outside Washington DC.
What the actual case was is that he had a concealed carry permit which “allowed” him to walk outside his home and (in theory) into his neighbors home with a loaded weapon. And yes, there are some who think he should have been charged for going to the rescue of the kid.
Pardon me, Bone, but when I Google ‘DGU’ I get Death God University and Disc Golf United, both of which are way off topic. AFAICT, you first used this acronym in post #58 , but didn’t define it then.
So can you let us in on the secrets of your private language?
I’m pretty sure he means defensive gun use.

Defensive Gun Use . Defined as, “The use of a firearm in defense of self or of another.” Depending on who you talk to, the number of DGU’s in the US each year range from 55 to 80 thousand (Dr. David Hemenway ) to a couple of million (Google Dr. Gary Kleck and Dr. John Lott’s work).
