In other news, Victims In Robbery Set-up Turn Tables on Gunman
The buyers contacted the sellers in Guntersville, Alabama arranging for them to drive up to Murfreesboro to make the sale.
“This was a set-up from the word go,” said Sgt. Evans. The meeting happened in a quiet downtown neighborhood
Police said these three suspects met the two men from Alabama and one pulled a gun, planning to rob them.
“The individuals who came to sell the equipment came armed and they came ready to defend themselves should something like this occur,” said Evans.
Right there, in broad daylight, the victims fought back. Later questioned by police one of them “stated that he believed he would be shot if he didn’t act and therefore, armed himself with the weapon from his waist … and he fired until his magazine was empty; nine rounds.”
Two of them hit 23-year-old Deviyon Smith, a convicted felon. Police found him bleeding in the street and he was rushed to the hospital.
The two victims drove away from the scene, and then called 911 to file a full report. Police said they acted in self-defense when confronted by the three accused robbers.
3vs2 and the two prevailed. DGU with no deaths.

OPD later located the suspect at Medical Center Hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower body.
Another attempt to kick in door. DGU with no deaths.
DGU?
Sorry, I haven’t been keeping up.

In other news: Turlock homeowner nabs burglar at gunpoint
Minjares was getting his 5-year-old daughter ready for bed around 11 p.m. Friday night when he heard a crash come from his backyard on E. Marshall Street.
“I wasn’t sure what it was, but I put my daughter in the closet and I got my gun, which has a laser on it,” Minjares said. “I took a few steps toward the French doors which lead outside and then this guy comes barreling through the doors and into my room. This big guy is looking at me and I raise my gun and point it right at him and tell him if he moves I’ll blow his head off.
…
Minjares told the emergency dispatcher that he had a burglar held at gunpoint and that the police needed to get there soon. He also described what he and the suspect were both wearing so there was no confusion for the officers.
“The 911 operator was fantastic,” Minjares said. “She relayed all the details I told her, so that not one officer pointed a gun at me.”
As soon as the suspect was in custody Minjares ran back into his home to get his little girl, who he found hiding behind his clothes in his closet.
DGU with no shots fired. Homeowner was former police and credited his training with helping him keep calm.

In other news, Pizza driver involved in gunfight with armed robber on west side
A pizza delivery driver was involved in a shootout with an armed robber who tried to rob him on the northwest side of Detroit.
After arriving to an abandoned house and being confronted, the driver pulled his own gun and was involved in shootout, according to police.
The house, located on Kentucky near Joy Road, was vacant and a suspect was waiting for the driver inside. In the shooting the suspect was wounded and found on the next street over, Kentucky, where he was arrested.
DGU with no deaths. Pizza delivery is apparently a popular targeted profession since you can summon people to a location of your choosing and you assume they have some cash.

I thought I posted this here this weekend, but I posted to a different thread and forgot to add it:
West Virginia becomes the 8th state that has constitutional carry (effective May 24, 2016).
This becomes law after a legislative override of the Governor’s veto. The House voted to override by a 64-33 margin. The Senate voted to override 23-11.

That is good news. I had no idea we were up to eight states. I haven’t kept up, and thought we were still only at three (Vermont, Alaska and Arizona).

In other news, Craig County Prosecutor Shoots Burglar Inside Her Home, Police Say
Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton said, "We don’t know if he knew whether that house was occupied or not, but he found out shortly after he entered it.”
Walton said Bryan Starkey kicked in the back door and came face to face with Oquin who shot him in the chest.
“He flees from the house, gets in the car and drives a mile down the road to a dead end,” Walton said.
An Inola police officer found Starkey shot.
Walton said, “She was a victim in her home, with a very high expectation of safety and privacy, and an intruder comes in and she was ready to deal with it and did so."
Walton said Starkey is a serial burglar who, he believes, is linked to many burglaries in the area.
“If more of these ended like this we wouldn’t have as many of these crimes,” said Walton.
DGU with no deaths. The homeowner was a former judge and current assistant DA. Judge, jury? (DA), and executioner? (not really, just the shooter). Really hard to use that expression in a realistic context.

In other news, Police: Robbery victim shoots, kills gunman, 16
When police arrived, they said they a preliminary investigation determined a teen gunman tried to rob one of two contractors rehabilitating a home when the contractor walked outside to retrieve equipment from a van. The contractor turned over his wallet.
The second contractor came to the front door and saw what was occurring, Neville said.
The gunman tried to rob him of his wallet, too, but the man - who has told police he has a permit to carry a concealed gun - pulled out his firearm.
The robbery suspect fired several shots at the man, but he returned fire, striking the suspect several times, according to Neville,
The suspect, Christopher Terrell, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said they would not release his photo.
DGU with one death of a robber. No injuries to the victims.
Workplace mass shooting averted when the gunman’s weapon jammed twice .
Mayhem averted on account of stupid gun owner.
What did he load a .22 with that was “the wrong ammunition”?
Jamming sounds like a semi-auto pistol, not a revolver. They usually take .22 long rifle ammo.
He could have mixed .22 longs. .22 shorts, maybe even .22 rat shot or .22 magnum if it would go into the magazine.
Also, some semi-auto’s are picky about which brand of ammo they use.
Some revolvers won’t take rat shot or magnums or others because the nose of the cartridge sticks out of the chamber a tiny bit which can jam the rotation of the cylinder.
Of course the report could be totally misinformed too.
Or I could be totally wrong.
Not enough information to make a positive ID of the problem if indeed it was really jamming.
A don’t get this, I think I must be some sort of mental retard or something…
On what planet is an attempted armed robbery by a 16 year old POSITIVE gun news?
I really can’t wrap my head around he whole concept where a shootout at the OK Corral is Good.
The only conclusion that I can draw - when I see stuff like this, is that the popularity of Trump suddenly makes sense - some Americans work of a value and judgement system that is totally alien to me

Christopher Terrell was of the African-American persuasion.
It is positive because the 16 year old criminal is the only one who came to harm in a series of events that he initiated. The optimal outcome of nobody being harmed at all could have been achieved if the 16 year old had not chosen to be a robber.
What color were the guys he tried to rob?
