Possibly dangerous roommate insanity

I’m pretty sure this is experiential not organic. He’s lived in the building a couple months, only moved in here when another roommate moved out, and his original roommates were not cohabitatable. During that prior time we hung out a lot and shared histories. We “bonded” over some parallel story arcs. Where we differed is he had/has a possibly schizophrenic religious hysteric for a mom. Shades of Sybil.

Literally not an option. Long story.

He’s already paranoid enough.

Neither. It’s a month by month building. I’ve been here 5.25 years.

I dont know. Would surprise me greatly if not.

Not possible. The symptoms are worse than ebola. When i pointed this out he said maybe I’m “microdosing” him.

And the plant is an annual in Chicago. It’s already gone.

Noted, thanks.

He believes that God sends demons in human form as opportunities to prove his spiritual strength.

Also pokeweed is edible (poke salad anyone?)

Absolutely. When i pointed out the impossibility thay it was the marinade (all kebab components were marinated in the same bowl; he cooked them himself in a kind of shuffling manner; all kebabs were unskewered into the same [washed] bowl, which we ate from simultaneously, in the near dark, while watching a movie), he said that he had no idea how i did it-'apparently demons witk in mysterious ways.

Nobody. It’s pretty much a slum–my only option living exclusively SSDI and having a big dog.

A good predictor of schizophrenia is a first degree relative with schizophrenia.

Only if thoroughly cooked - not what you want in a tossed green salad.

Just a thought – it occurs to me that the police might answer that first question for you if you shared your safety concerns, though as everyone is saying you should still be cautious regardless. But if he’s been in trouble before you’re likely to have an easier time getting rid of him.

I very much doubt that the police will just turn over data from sources like the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) due to privacy issues but they might be able to give you yes/no answers as to whether he has a history that should be concerning.

There are also online sources that purport to let you do your own background check, but reviews suggest that results are often incomplete or unreliable.
