Post 2 true and 1 false thing about yourself

Did the duck train you for #2? I’m going to say #3 is false, just because I want to hear the whole story if it isn’t.

Here are my 3:

  1. I have a relative named Indiana Jones.
  2. I studied law at Oxford.
  3. I hung out with Melissa Joan Hart in high school.

Unfortunately #2 was true. The cursed bottle had a Belgian ale type of label, but when we opened it they could smell the stank from the next room. Unfortunately we had a rule of “You open the damn thing, you drink the damn thing”.

You’re good. I was in the same room as Spock, but did not meet him.

Nope  Never been on an airplane in my life (not out of fear or anything, we’ve always just driven on family vacations)

I’m gonna say #2, because I can’t wait to hear the explanation if I’m wrong.

I can remember cleaning out my granmother’s basement and finding some pretty fossilized home-canned produce, so I’m gonna guess #1 is false.

Nope. #3 is false-twas my pa what shot the jar of cherries. We found the jar in the cellar when we moved in, and left it down there. One day my father was upstairs in the living room cleaning an empty rifle and, well…

Let’s do another all-celeb troika.

I:

  1. Once had a 10-minute conversation with Dennis Hopper next to the United Nations.
  2. Went to school with the bearded guy from Anthrax and the guy with the tall Afro from Kid 'n Play.
  3. Once contacted Ken Jennings to tell him he was being plagiarized.

Awww yeah…double-stumping.

  1. “I have been to all 48 continental states.”
False. I’ve never been to Florida.

  2. “I have walked through a very large crowd wearing nothing but sneakers and a strategically placed fanny pack.”
True. Woodstock '94. Once I realized that there was absolutely no actual authority there, off came the clothes. I carefully positioned my fanny-pack in front, and enjoyed my day. Incidentally, we lost our camera that day, so if any of you happen to be one of the hundred or so people who stopped our group and took a picture, I’d really like it if you could send me a copy.

  3. “I was taught to walk with major assistance from a duck.”
True. The story was explained here.

I’ve been wrong on all the others, so what the hell

I guess #2.

OK, here go mine

(1) I met, was introduced to and had a conversation with Jose Maria Aznar, ex-Prime Minister of Spain, when he was Prime Minister.

(2) I met, was introduced to and had a conversation with Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, ex-Prime Minister of Spain, when he was Prime Minister.

(3) I met, was introduced to and had a conversation with H.R.H Felipe, Crown Prince of Spain.

Sorry. Wrong again. :smack:

His language was imprecise. Of course he meant barring accident or other unforeseen circumstances. I had my wisdom teeth removed in 1977. Since then I’ve had, IIRC, three fillings, the last in 1996. I see the dentist twice a year.

  1. I was born in Tokyo, Japan

  2. I was a Phi Beta Kappa

  3. I once bench pressed 300lb and ran 10 miles on the same day

  1. I was a professional firefighter/medic in the 1980’s

  2. I once spent the day with Suzanne Pleshette

  3. I carry a concealed firearm

[li]While standing with a small group about 5 feet from Al Gore as he spoke to us, my cellphone went off. :smack:[/li][li]Penn Jillette was over the top inordinately pleased with a compliment I made to him after watching one of his shows. All I said was “great show”. [/li][li]Martha Stewart had a coughing fit while singing at my brother’s wedding reception.[/li][/ol]

#1 is true-- I was born in Tokyo, Japan.

Then I was wrong. I was going for the opposite of true.

OK here are mine:

(1) I was once detained and questioned when trying to enter the United Nations building in NY in the evening.

(2) I have not seen a movie in a movie theater in 5 years.

(3) I have never sent a text message by cell phone.

Is that the real Guess Who or the cheap imitation being bandied about for who knows how many years now? If the latter, I’ll bet on #3 being the lie. If it’s the real Guess Who I bet that’s the lie.

3 is obviously true   So I say 2 on a guess.

Sounds dumb but somehow I bet #3 is the lie and there’s a funny story in there somewhere. Otherwise it’s #1.
