I’m not complaining really, I’m actually just curious. Earlier today I noticed my post count was 506, and just now after my latest post I noticed it is showing up as 501. I’ve reloaded Netscape, cleared cache, etc. No change.
What could cause my post count to suddenly drop? Would deleting a thread do this? Or did I imagine this? The only reason I’ve even looked at it lately was having just passed 500, I was aware of it.
I keep forgetting, is that the one kind of coal or the other?
Not that I could ever see any difference in coal, and it’s been a while since I’ve had to shovel the stuff into a boiler. Remember that routine? I guess they still do it in W.Va. towns.
So, do you have a regular party thread, or did you stop counting at 39, like Jack Benny?
I noticed that too–I posted and went from 495 to 487. I thought that maybe it was a deleted thread, but I can’t think of anything I would have posted to that would have snipped nine posts.
I note that the board has been awfully slow since I got on–I wonder if there’s some sort of tech problem.
By the way, Anthracite, happy 500. (For the moment, that is–we seem to be going backwards.)

In the course of everyday life we do sometimes need to remove posts or even entire threads from the board . . . when we do that the post counts don’t change.
We had a spot of system maintenance yesterday and my guess is when Jerry did do that voodoo that he does so well, all those deleted posts and/or threads were zeroed out and the post counts now reflect actual posts in existence on the board.
Just a WAG on my part.
