Very mundane and pointless, but I wanted to share my joy a the end of a semester of hard work. Have 6 hours of A and waiting for the 7 other hours to post grades next week. Never had such a good semester of professors, though, so it’s kind of bittersweet.
I finished my last exam yesterday morning 9:00 AM-Noon. I also had an exam the night before at 7:00 PM.
This was my first semester of university, too. I’m looking forward towards next semester because I signed up early and got all classes I actually want to take.
Congratulations Merman for getting all the classes you want. That’s hard to do with less than honors or senior standing at the university I currently attend.
And didn’t I just read that you are don’e with undergrad finals forever Incubus? Congratulations on your English degree!
I handed in my last paper of my first semester of college yesterday, caught a midnight plane from LA and arrived back home (finally!) this morning. Hooray…
No final exam, just a final paper for my literature class. Turned it in over a week ago. (Yay!) My professor has graciously agreed to do me a huge favor and go over the paper with me: I’ve gotten mostly Bs from her this semester, and anticipate a similar grade on the final paper, and I’d like some feedback on what I can do in future lit classes to get higher grades on my papers (I love lit classes – love to read and discuss books/poems/plays – but always struggle with the papers). Plus, I hate that I normally never get to find out how I did on the final paper/exam! We’re meeting in her office on campus Monday morning, and after that I will consider the semester to be officially over.
(When she called to set up the meeting she said that there were no significant problems with my paper, just that I need to develop my ideas more; she said it’s something that new graduate students often struggle with, so hopefully I’ll get some good pointers on Monday!)
Finished yesterday. I already have all my grades back except one, so I don’t have to be worrying about that over the break. Plus I did well, so I can walk around with a satisfied glow. I worked hard, dammit, and I earned that glow! The best part? I get to start all over again in January.
Best of luck to anyone still writing finals or waiting for marks!
Finished my final final this morning. Introduction to Music. I think I got an A on the exam, which pretty much means I got an A for the course. My other finals were Monday, and I did all right on those, too.
Just finished about half an hour ago. Half way home I realized that I integrated a problem wrong. :smack: 8 am differential equations will do that to you I guess. Now the long wait for grades.
I’ve got my last final in 45 minutes. I’ve decided to give up doing any last-minute studying, but I don’t think that listening to songs like 25 Minutes to Go and Another Brick in the Wall, Part II is really helping either.
Not only am I finished with finals - I’m finished with work.
So while the dreary decades pass and you toil away at mind numbing, soul sucking largely unappreciated tasks, take heart in the hope that one day you too can spend your time riding your Harley, skiing, backpacking, bowling, touring the US and world, doing some community type things with the service clubs you belong to, long leisurely breakfasts at the local casino where your meals are 25% cheaper just because your over 55, time to read all the books you were always going to read, and all the while leaping from your bed at the crack of when-ever-the-mood-strikes.
Of course this probably makes me a lot closer to being dead than you are, something of a bummer in my opinion, but hey, you can’t have everything.
Well, I was finished at 12:45 on Monday. My final started at 12:20. Take that how you will.
Except for the class I blew off because I couldn’t stand it, I’ve done pretty well with the grades that are in. I’m still waiting on the one that I had the final in, though.
I actually finished my end of year exams about a month ago now. I got the results on Friday - distinctions in both subjects (Constitutional Law and Property Law), so I was thrilled.
I finished grading the finals this morning. One class did well, one class did all right, and the other class was very mixed. I will turn in the grades on Monday for the feeling of utter completion.
