So your contention, Rekd, is that when these regulations were unsettled and being debated, Obama cost the industry billions*. And when they were settled, Obama wanted to poison our children**. That about sum it up?

So first you are upset with Obama for signing an exemption, then you are upset with him for not signing it fast enough? Please keep your stories straight. Sure we understand that you hate Obama and have a knee jerk reaction against anything he does right or wrong, but it would be nice to know which of your woefully ill informed opinions we should trash.
Close, but no. My contention was that Obama was allowing something that has (a now obviously remote) chance that a kid could get lead poisoning by allowing this bill to be killed.
However, (and you guys are gonna kill me for this…) when you consider the broad brush the bill was created with and how idiotic it was for the Consumer Product Safety Commission to enact such a bill in the first place.
It was thrown together in haste and caused a bunch of hyperbole and misinformation about the whole thing.
The worst part is what would happen when kids couldn’t get youth ATVs and would likely be riding more dangerous adult sized ATVs. (Yes, suddenly eating an ATV doesn’t seem like such a bad thing) Injuries from youth ATVs are pretty high and the majority of them are from kids riding bigger ATVs and not wearing helmets.
Had this bill passed it could have been very bad for kids who want to ride but cant get an appropriate sized quad.
I’m really glad I brought this up here, it pushed me to consider other sides of the story I hadn’t heard and it actually changed my mind. Thanks for the lumps and lessons. 
I’ll admit to skimming the thread so I’m not sure whether OP finally decided the bill Obama signed was idiotic, or the bill it overturned was idiotic. He does seem adamant that there’s some idiocy in this thread; and I think we can all agree with that.

This I think is a key point. The Federal Government is a big place but morons think everything that goes wrong is that damn Nigger’s fault. If anyone had blamed GWB for a bill OP disapproves of that passed the Democrat Congress, OP would have soiled his diapers.

The OP decided that he’s upset with Obama and whether that’s because Obama is a damn socialist who’s killing business with excessive regulation or an inhuman monster intent on poisoning our precious children is just nitpicking.
Um, the bill was written by Mark Pryor. He isn’t a Republican last time I checked. And the bill passed with overwhelming support from both parties, so the Democrats can hardly be excused if it is too broad in its application.
In my statement above I give President Obama a pass for this mess - this by no means lets other Democrats (or Republicans) skip out on their obligation to pass responsible legislation.
